Function over form?

Most definitely.  It just barely peeks out from under the header now, enough to catch the toe of my boot.  Got any pictures?  I'd hate to see this thread die.  It's fascinating.

Mine doesn't look much better.  I pulled the front end apart because of this half-assed scheme to install Superbike bars on it and ditch the clip-ons.  Ill planned and poorly executed, it will end up with the clip-ons back on it; but it will have new grips.  Forks apart and torn down, fairing and tank on shelves...  At least I haven't screwed up anything.

Hopefully I'll get a chance to put it all back together when I get back from the Delta Fire, or the Mendocino Complex, or whatever else decides to catch fire in California.  Still have a month and a half of fire season left.

In better days.

I totally get it... mine has been invisible for months at a time but prettier every time she graces me with her presence.

Was about me getting a message, then a member thought it needed pics so we posted a few. I have no idea. Yea, I saw he had a LM3, showed him my bodywork.
