Title: Firefox says my login is "not secure"?
Post by: guzzinka on September 19, 2018, 11:46:47 AM
Computer illiterate here, is that just because this isn't an "https" site?  I apologize for a potentially stupid question :boozing:

Yes, this forum does not use HTTPS, your communications are not encrypted.
This just means you do not use your email address, user name and password combination you use for banking and online shopping when logging into any forum and other social media.
IOW, in the one in a million chance someone is listening to your local connection, or to this site's portal, make sure you do not type anything you would not want the bad guys to see.

<Sigh> OK , I understand you are concerned , we have been discussing this very thing for months now . Nothing to be worried about , WG has multiple firewalls in place , and can't even be seen in the countries where 99.99% of the hacks come from . "We" can see your Email address , but have sworn an oath of secrecy , no torture or amount of money would make the *staff* reveal any private info .
Besides , we can't remember any of it anyway

Not concerned Dusty, just genuinely ignorant .  I've read the harrowing tales of fending off foreign server attacks, etc., I know we're in good hands here.   :boozing:
