Title: 80s era Key Code?

My new project 87 LM came without keys. There's a code on the switch I need to interpret to make a new key - where can I find data that translates into making a key?

I can make keys for the airheads, it's not difficult, so there must be some trick for the Guzzis. When I compare the code on a switch that has a key it makes no sense, so I'm obviously missing something.

I'd prefer figuring out the code rather than taking the switch apart - mainly because the bent-over tabs and risking breaking one off.

Truly, the bent over tabs are nothing. I've overhauled several Zadi switches. No big deal. Try Keys for Classics.

^^^ This. http://www.keys4classics.com/html/MotoGuzzi.html They can cut the blanks to your code. Usually around $25 including shipping from 'Stralia.

I didn't figure it was gonna be easy...

Yeah, I've uncrimped the switches before, but was hoping to do it the 'smart' way. The way the locksmiths do it. If no one knows, I'll do it the way I know how - take it apart and file the key to match.

The "smart" way is buy keys from Keys4Classics already cut and use your time for something more important.  :wink:
