Hello! Thought I'd share a video my friend made of the recent Moto Guzzi & Magni rally held in Kyushu, Japan. This time the event was held on a grass runway and we were treated to an airshow! Bikes and planes!

Looks like a nice rally. That would be fun.
I had no idea Japan had such pretty countryside.

Not a Great Lakes..although it has the Great Lakes tail shape and swept top wing. I can't identify it, and *assume* it's a one off.
Yeah, I saw Big Ed Mahler at Rockford back in the day. He had the PJ 260 there.

Now you're showing your age Chuck. Rockford? We flew up there in a Cougar.

Nice. We used to camp with John and Jennie Dyke every year.
I *probably* have a picture of that Cougar.
Rockford was a "little" smaller than Oshkosh is today. I wonder if the city fathers have had second thoughts about not expanding the airport when the EAA needed more space?

I've only been to Oshkosh once, when it first started. I thought it was too big and now it's just bizarre.

Yeah, the feeling of "family" is long gone. We still go most of the time, though, to catch up with old friends we only see at OSH..
It *used* to be a convention for people that built airplanes. Now, it's how much money can we make? IMHO, it all started with Tom and his pin striped suit buddies after he took over.. <grumbling and shuffling off.>

Super cool, thanks! :thumb:

Both planes look to me like ultralights, likely Rotax powered based on looking at the propellers. One offs would not be likely in Japan. The one with the Christen Eagle paint job is not an Eagle. Either Experimental homebuilt or Certified ICAO-compliant GA is difficult in Japan and I'd assume that as in many other counties, quasi-certified ultralights with limited operational privileges are the work around. Another example is Italy where they have a thriving factory built UL scene despite being mostly restricted to 1000 ft agl... depending on whether it's a weekday or weekend.
Very interesting to (again) see the countryside in a rural part of Japan. Thanks very much for that. Magni has sold a fair number of bikes in Japan and it's nice to see them too.
