Title: Possible good deal on CL Triumph Thunderbird
Post by: sdcr on December 14, 2018, 04:22:29 PM
If this is not a scam, looks like a pretty inexpensive winter project.

No affiliation, just passing this along.

Well, that was quick. I think it was only up a few hours.

IIRC, it was a 97 Triumph  thunderbird Sport. Green, not presently running. They were asking $250. For the bike. Photos of it made it appear to have been sitting for about a year. Tires were bad, and no battery, but the overall condition looked very good. Also, ithe CL ad did not have the telltale verbiage of the scam ads.

The first year for a Thunderbird Sport was 1998 and they were yellow and black with the exhaust on the right side only. I didn’t see the ad but I can tell you that the Thunderbird Sport never was built at the factory in green and the Sport had black engine cases.

Triumph made their Thunderbird Legend TT variant in green.  I've got a '98 Sport in red with black and the stacked pipes.  It's a fun machine.

BRG-bird and brother Jim,

You are most likely correct, as I was going from memory, since the ad had already been pulled. It was green, and a 97.
