UK only model? It's a recent post on the 'Made in Italy' website, no year or price and a Google search didn't come up with much more.

Looks like a customized 1000S.

As far as I can remember it is legit.I Think the importer fitted the fairing and a few other bits as the bikes were selling so slowly.Bit like the earlier special paint job on leftover LM 2"s

If I remember correctly, those were black with green stripes and a black frame. This one looks legit except for the color

Possibly done to order BC ...who knows unless we go and scratch the paint away to see whats under!

True. With that low mileage and the Ago fairing it will probably go for quite a bit of money even if it's a repaint.

Madeinitaly 's bike are always in the top of the price range anyway...15 big one's in sterling wouldn't surprise me at all...

Agree with that, and more £ if it is a factory 'Special' like the Black 'Dr John Daytona'

Based on this, it is a repaint and it should have the LM I fairing.

I just read some information about that model a couple of weeks ago, on a website that now doesn't link up anymore. What I remember was that it was Europe only, very few produced and it didn't have the striped 1000s paint scheme, may have been solid red like photo. Annoying that I can't get there again.... Edit - I had followed a link in this article which is now a dead end, it had a great breakdown of how many of each variation were produced - https://www.bike-urious.com/1991-moto-guzzi-1000s/

I remember a really nice publicity shot from the early of a red 1000s, wire wheels and with the LM type fairing posed in front of a British aircraft....nostalg ia themed and it hit all my buttons .Only problem was that I didn't have the 6000 pounds or so to fulfill that particular dream !

A UK only, I believe, special. The only ones I've seen (admittedly few) have been red - Lemans red. A mate has one - I've photos somewhere - I'll look for them, or take some new ones - another mate was the previous owner (in the UK) so the history is firm.
-
They were red from the factory with a 850 LeMans type bikini fairing. 30-40 units produced. I have the pdf downloaded.

Sad that the 1000S sold so weakly.. I guess it does make sence.. I mean I loved the bike when I took a few extended testdrives.. But I just couldnt afford it.. Not a fan of the posted faring... But I bet it looked pretty hot with the LM1 faring.
-
Actually, it doesn't. The headlight ears sit higher up and makes the fairing on the se look like its stretching its neck to look over something out front.
-
I remember where I saw the photo of red one in front of an aircraft...Gambalun ga which is the Guzzi UK club mag. Pretty sure it was on the cover .

If you could lower or invert the fork ears it would look better IMO.
This one has a Lemans saddle that helps the look.

I see what you mean - it's goofy looking. Inverting the headlight ears should bring it down enough to fix it.
The turn signals don't help either.

Not bad... but ya a bit "off"... and heck the base 1000S is such a stunning bike, why change it?
