I bought a motorbike now it will snow in Pa until april! :violent1:

Look at the bright side. You can use the time to do any maintenance, polishing, tires, etc.
And winter is a good time for hiking. Far less ticks, insects, less people.
And you'll find you can hike faster and further than you can in hot weather.
Daypack with coffee, PB&J, crampons, extra clothes, JIC

We are supposed to get a good blast of winter today. 12 - 17 inches. I resurrected my old arctic cat jag over the last few weeks. Kinda looking forward to trying it out. If you can't beat It join it. Be safe out there !!!
-
The center in NC where I'm located there will be a 40+ temperature drop in a 24 hour period, from T shirts to cold suits. Dang!!!
-
Winter moon rising last night, here in "Vortex-Land..."
Going for a breakfast ride this morning...will take and post photos...No worries...April-May are now only 3-4 months away!

At least you have snow! We have rain, and freezing rain, and ice, and more rain... Not at all nice.
Plus, if you have a garage, you can spend some quality time with your bike, while the outside world is blanketed in beautiful, quiet snow.
Me? I don't have a garage. Spending any time with my bike means taking its cover off and standing with it in the cold rain. So, enjoy what you can!

Thanks, now we're all cursed. The weather ain't local- it's national- global even.

What a great time to go over ever nut, bolt, and fastener just to double-check, scan the interwebs for accessories like tankbag, windscreen, raingear, and sign-up for a spring MSF rider refresher course!
Also to put together/refine roadside emergency tools/spares, etc...
One wintertime activity for me is to do as much routine maintenance work on the bike as possible using the tools I carry onboard so I can ensure I'm carrying stuff I can actually utilize....my2cents

How boring would it be if every day was xx degrees? Every season (northeast) has it's attractions.
And in a few months the next season rolls in.
Get out, walk, fish, kayak, hike, it's like you are a kid again.

Yeah, I like the seasons, too. At the moment, however, Winter is a little much.
-
Now buy a snow blower to neutralize that curse. Winter does SUCK.

It's Still only 37* out there, not warming up today. Wasn't cold enough for Carharts. But I let the 20/50 warm a bit.

With Indiana University basketball irrelevant for years the only good thing is the fantastic music school. Grew up there but not a day goes by that I am grateful to be gone.

Different strokes for different folks and all that. I just asked the Google girl what the forecast is and she mumbled something about 15 below. Shirley, she's mistaken..

This morning it was beautiful out there, but I fixed that.

A few of my buds left for the FL Keys last Tuesday. Two ways later they were ridding in shorts and T-shirt's. Fast foreward two days later and they left SC. this morning, trying to get home, in temps in the teens and will have to ride all day in sub freezing temps. Sorry but like I told them, ridding for in warm temps for a few hours just ain't worth the trip for me.

I hope so! Then again, I rode my V7 last night. A bit breezy but after about a week without riding while running my daughter all over the northeast for skiing it was sorely needed. Thinking of taking it to Philly in the morning for a doctors appointment but with single digit temps overnight I may stick with the Tiger. It has heated grips and a windshield.

I would only do it if facing starvation. On the positive side one wouldn't need ice for the beer. :boozing:

It would be the best fish you ever ate. Trust me. Bring them up, (not much of a fight) throw them on the ice, and they freeze almost instantly. Take them home, put em in the sink and they start swimming around again. Kill em and clean em.
The only better way is a shore lunch out of the fish basket while they are still alive. Oh, man.. Walleyes on the shore.

What makes you believe the snow will stop in April? Last year the last snow was in May.
This winter the first snow was on 12 Oct. and the winter has had more snow days than before.
I am tired of all the broken contracts from the global warming people.

I thought this post on Facebook tonight was appropriate...

About the same here tonight, but in the teens tomorrow. Split up some extra wood and stacked it in the kitchen so I won't have to go out to the shed in the morning. Jack, being a rough-haired border collie, is equipped for weather like this and it doesn't bother him much, but I suspect he'll be back at the door pretty quick after his 2 AM constitutional in the morning!

Chicago is forecast to reach an actual temperature of minus 26 degrees Wednesday night -- just one degree away from the city's all-time coldest temperature, which was set in 1994.
And soon, freezing temperatures will take over the Northeast.
Oh joy!

Woke this morn to -15 outside.... ya..no... The Guzzi is tucked away in the garage at a balmy 35 deg.... Still nope... I looked at it yesterday when I was putting the snowblower away.... does that count?
-
It was about 18 degree’s yesterday, snow was lightly coming down as I get the CX started to head back home. I plugged in the Powerlet jacket and gloves and feel some unusual warmth near the electrical connection, then smell that familiar electrical smell and smoke starts coming out from my pants. Needless to say, it was an unexpected cold ride, just glad I didn’t ignite.

This isn’t that old of a jacket, I did strip out the bad wires and will see how it works at a later date. Too cold to ride this morning, even with working electrics.

-6 right now with a -19 wind chill. Warming up to 16 today, but 2-4" of snow. On the bright side, it is supposed to be 56 on Sunday! Since the NFL doesn't pay me to care about football, I'm going for a ride!
-
.... and smoke starts coming out from my pants.
Don't you just hate when that happens? I don't get as much of that now that I'm older, though ....

At least you would've been nice 'n' warm for a little while...

-50 here yesterday morning. There is NO work being done, garage or otherwise... aside from snow clearing, and yesterday... even that was put aside. We were having a relatively mild winter (for us) up until a couple weeks ago.
Used waaaaay more firewood this past week than expected. Thought I'd make it to late Feb with what I have in the woodshed... using the last of it tonight.

Thankfully I have my vintage Marantz and Klipsch Forte's to keep me happy!!!!
