Title: A Word About Cadre Cycle - Cincinnati
Post by: kballowe on January 26, 2019, 06:28:25 PM
I was in Cincinnati this morning to pick up a 2017 V9 at Cadre Cycle.

It was ready and waiting for me and the paperwork was completed quickly and we loaded up and were ready to go in less than 30 minutes.  It would have been even shorter, but I had to get coffee, eat two donuts.  BS with some of the customers, etc.

It's a small shop with a fair amount of bikes.  A 1400 Cali Tour, Audace, MGX-21, some V9's and a whole herd of V7's.  Also, there appears to be a sale on several models.  Oh, and it's a real talent how they have them all stacked in there and the place does not look cluttered

They also have some nice used bikes.

We got treated like we were their best customers and everything was as stated on the phone.  Couldn't have been better.

Of course, I always have great luck when picking up a bike.  Mother nature is always trying to help me out.

We got home and all is well.

So, the bike came with the extra European foot peg/control assembly.  The U.S. version is mounted (from the factory).
Also, Cadre has mounted a set of risers from (I cannot remember) which moves the handlebars up and back, a bit.  It seems very comfy

That's all there is.

Stay tuned.

:thumb: About a year ago I needed some small parts, less than  $50.00 worth, and they had to come from Mandello. I was treated just like you, the most important guy in the world. Their communication was outstanding and everything showed up as promised, all for a very insignificant sale at most other shops.  Congrats on the new bike!

That's a sweet looking bike !!!  I also am a huge fan of cadre. I bought my Stornello in Md.and had my first service done there after hearing all the good reviews, I'm 375 miles away from them but it was worth the trip. Great bunch of guys.

LOL - 400 miles from me.  This was a telephone transaction.  No surprises, no BS.  What you see is what you get.  I already love this place.

I should have ridden the demo roamer while at cadre, but I was too tired from the trip. Be interested in hearing your reviews. I really like the Stornello except for the 2 by 4 seat and suspension. Going to be upgrading any suggestions would be appreciated. We are in the throws of winter right now so I have the time. Hopefully the funds.

As per their website, they'll actually deliver a bike to you free of charge if you live within 200 miles. Whether or not it's actually members of their staff or if they outsource that is currently beyond me, I'd figure they themselves do it though. I plan on getting the new night pack variety of a v7 III stone from them this spring/summer and despite me living within their free delivery distance (187 miles), I think I may make the 3 hour trip to hopefully meet all the right people and take the tour and shake all the hands etc. I think that rapport building with my "local" dealer would be worth it, especially considering all of the great things I've heard about them.

Speaking of v7 III Stones, they still have their 400 ticket raffle going:     https://cadrecycle.com/product/raffle/ (https://cadrecycle.com/product/raffle/)

Congratulations! Great looking bike. The risers look nice.
I was just there on Wednesday seeing what it would cost to have a set of Agostini’s put on my V9 this spring.

A big fan here as well and what I am going to say applies to Hamlin's in CT as well .  It may apply to others, but these are the 2 that I have experience with.
In watching Cadre since they brought MG in, I have noticed that they are "all in" with MG.  What I mean to say is that many but not all of the shops that have dropped the brand are multiline dealers.  I am not saying that spreading the risk is a bad business philosophy, in fact, probably a better one if you have a large space and the large expenses that go with it.  But what that does is means that MG is usually an afterthought.  A sales person will take a person to the MG area only if the person asks or expresses an interest, instead, they usually go to what is hot at the time.  It would take real sales skill to take someone who came in on one of the big Japanese 4 or HD to move them to MG, but it is probably seldom tried.  When I lived in the Wash D.C. area, there was a big HD shop that also carried BMWs, now it is a little unfair because my experience comes from the 90s when HD was white hot, but you practically had to beg to look at a Beemer and the so called sales people knew almost nothing about them except that they came from Germany.
When you visit Cadre or Hamlin in CT., all the passion and excitement is centered on MG. Both of the owners are excited about the bikes as well as their staff and it really shows.  Also, both of those shops have a lot of bikes.  From a background in car sales, I can tell you that it generates far more excitement then when you walk in and there is one demo and one bike on the floor.  With a lot of bikes, you can better imagine yourself riding one.  Similar to HD, these MG dealers also sell an image.  The image is that you are riding something different from all of the look alikes, also, a cool Italian vibe, a practically hand made machine, and when you ride one you find that although they look retro, they feel modern and are easy to ride.
One final thing is that both of these are relatively small shops.  There are huge advantages in lowered overhead costs as well as an intimate feel where you don't even have to raise your voice to ask a question because even if no one is standing there with you, someone is always close at hand. There is usually a pot of coffee and for me, it takes me back to the smaller shops that were around in the 70s and 80s before the big boys started building amusement park type dealerships.
When riding long distance, I always seek out the mom and pop eatries.  I feel the same about these 2 shops and others like them.  For anyone thinking about taking advantage of Cadre's delivery service, I agree with the poster who said he was going to go anyway and pick up the bike, go, it will be worth the trip.  There is good food close by and it will be an experience you will remember.

Thats right there what i felt dealing with hamlin's in CT. I had a free day a few weeks ago, and since I just got my first Guzzi I figured Id check the dealer out, and get some small parts for a oil change. I called up before I left becouse it was a weekend, and didnt want to take a 2 hour drive for nothing!  I got there, and the guys had the filter I called for in the counter waiting, and we talked about the bike for about 1/2 hour. Showed me around the joint, and just made me feel like I was at home. I was shocked to see all the bikes on the floor! Even the big 4 brands dont have that many on the floor in winter time. It was good to see being that so many of the dealers are pulling out of MG. Nice to see a few that can go that extra mile!!

Nice looking bike. Also good to hear positives for dealers. It’s got to be a tough way to make a living.

Congrats! The only thing better than getting a beautiful new bike is getting it from a friendly and reliable dealer. I know, because Moto Richmond has done me right on my Roamer after the three other Virginia dealerships I bought (or tried to buy) Guzzis from folded under me. Happy trails to you!

Preaching to the choir I know but had to agree; stopped in to Cadre yesterday on my way to the GarageBrewed show.

The guys cheerfully showed us round the place & as one enthusiast talking to another chatted about the bikes & offered bikes for us to test ride! Though that wasn't likely to happen in that tempreture .

Enzo shared his knowledge of exhausts, mufflers & Griso's for 1/2 hour.

A knowledgable group of guys. Definitely a dealer I'd recommend.

I wish Eurosports Reno was like these 2 old school feel dealers. There're good people there but absentee mgmt causes issues.

The MG website shows all authorized dealers are taking $2,000 deposits, it's a nationwide program.

+1        I wanted to resurrect this one based on my experience at this point.

My experience being 2 phone calls so far, but if you've happened upon some of my previous threads, I had mentioned that I was wanting to get the new Night Pack variety v7 stone this year. I called up Enzo at Cadre to get some out the door pricing and to see when they'd be available since it's getting to be about that time, and he told me that Guzzi had told him the Night Packs wouldn't be there until June, myself hoping to have this bike early May at the absolute latest. Not having ruled out the possibility of getting a leftover 18, I asked if he had one in black, he said not currently but could have one moved up from the Guzzi warehouse in Texas as they still had some, but offered to knock $500 off the sticker price for the 19 to save him the logistical work and to be able to sell a bike he technically already had in stock. He then ran the numbers for both: $8600 OTD for the 18, $9200 for the 19 (this 9200 figure including his mark down keep in mind). As much as I appreciate him knocking off $500 the 19, I sprung for the 18 regardless because $600 is $600, he was more than understanding but I definitely made clear how grateful I was for him doing that for me. I put $200 down and he said he'd let me know when it would arrive.

3 days later (today), I get a call from Enzo explaining that there are in fact no black 18's leftover in Texas, that there had been an error in communication somewhere and that he'd be willing to take off another $200 on a new 19 to bring the total to $9000 out the door to try and make it happen. As you could guess I said yes! He was very pleased but not as pleased as me, and I let him know it. I think it's pretty amazing that a dealer whom I've never bought from or so much have been to is willing to take a $700 hit for me, I'm more or less only paying for the bike itself and the freight. I was planning to weasel a tee shirt and maybe a shop manual out of him come the day I go get it but at this point I think I'd feel too guilty

So yeah, I'm getting a 2019 V7 III Stone for $9k tax/title/plate/hopefullyateeshirt/everything included out the door, Cadre Cycle is willing to work with and for you
