Anyone know the average or median age of members on this site? Just curious when you hear about all the suspender slappers!
-
Old enough to know better!
-
Most of us are to old to remember how to do the math???????
-
old enough that we can't remember.

Good question for Luap....I'd guess 50...closest to without going over?
Wait median? or average age? bet they would be quite different
50 for average
35 for median...if we use median we'll sound like a much younger group :)
-
Easy. Use the curmudgeon formula. Works on any internet forum.
Divide # of legitimate questions per month by the square root of grumpy responses.
68.2 years
Remember not to include angry responses, only grumpy.

The median is surly a good bit greater than 35.
-
OLD!
-
Similar to the age of dirt.

Think of what this poor man witnessed in his lifetime. The decimation of his people and hundreds of treaties broken.
Decimation is too kind of a word. I can't help think this when I look at his face and eyes.

agreed....more to the point though is the median is more resistant to outliers... any outliers out there ? :)

Surly may be a good term in the winter.. Perhaps you should have used Shirley?

Luap did a poll a couple of years back , one of you patient guys can locate it . At the time I think the largest age group was the 60-65 demographic .

That would seem true. My guess is the average age is 64.2591 and the median age is 58.2983.

Simple enough to do another poll if anyone really cares .

I’m interested in knowing the age of the oldest member still riding at least 5000 miles / year?
-
I feel I'm probably at the younger end being 27 pushing 28
-
I was fishing one day when this bearded guy split the waters and brought his people out of Egypt. Didn't catch a thing after that!

I feel you would be right (says a 70 year old snapping his red suspenders).
-
Hey Canada Klaus, you out there ? I know you and “ihonk” must be in the running and put on way more miles than that each year!!

-

I nominate Mel Lucke of Portland,Or for consideration. 82 this year on a California & Norge bought 1-1 1/2 yrs ago. Awesome guy, avid walker & smooth rider starting 7-8 yrs ago I think.

I'm just a pup at 74, but easily do a piddling 5K a year.. <shrug>
-
Maybe we're going about this the wrong way... My median age is 27. Of course that was back in 1989.

I was about your age when I first fell for the Guzzis... sadly it was just this year at 53 when I got one!!!

LOl...that's why you're asking about clip-ons, and not more comfy seats and top boxes!
-
Always remember, When you are over the hill you just pickup speed. Trying to remember which side the footbrake is on can get exciting though!!
-
Really, just summed up nicely in two words..."GUZZI GEEZERS!!"

Further to spoiling an already soured demographic?
In recent years I'm down to nearly 5K miles/month Avril to October-November. In 2007, a truly winterless winter, i.e. no insulated boots or heavy coats, I rode more than 300 mi. every week, Dec. to Mar. I'm hopeful for this year, although both hips have been hollering at me for years. A carefully adjusted V7III helps. I'll be 85 later this year.
Ain't stoppin' 'til I drop it'! R3~

Better late than never! Congrats on the Guzzi :)
I've had two now, a V11 LeMans and a Breva 750, got my first one in January of 2011... so I was 21 at the time of my first Guzzi!
I really miss riding, but right now my living situation is uncertain... so I'm holding off a bit. Maybe a V85 variant is in my future?

You should see some of the gear I have lol, need to get some pics of me actually on my bike with it. Kinda hard to do when you work on your bike more than you ride it

Unkept. (love your handle).
Thanx. But as they say; Not my 1st rodeo. Been riding for almost 70 years. Have eight more 2 & 4 strokes of other brands: V50 III, V65 Lario, 93 Daytona, Aprilia RS125, Gilera CX125, GB500TT, T500 Café racer. All plated and road worthy, except the T500.
Many other 2 strokes and bmw's in the past. Good fortune, R3~
-
Maybe time for a another poll?
Last time I did this, the average age was 52 years old.
I’ll start another poll, or anyone else can for that matter.
-
Please, Do, Luap! Thanks
-
46 here.
Mentally? Still 26. According to others, I'm either "young at heart" or "immature"... depends on who you are and how much you like me, I guess.
-
My average age is 59. I'm 59 and I'm average. Median age? my median has gotten so wide lately I don't know if I can measure it. You know, space contraction and time dilation happens when your median expands really quickly. Where's my quantum tape measure?
:copcar:

I wasn't replying to your comment, ha! I was responding to s1120.
That's a sweet collection of bikes you've had. I would love to ride pretty much all of those! Good taste.
