Title: Cedar Vale and Dusty in print!
Post by: Gliderjohn on February 17, 2019, 02:28:49 PM
Dusty is a bit embarrassed that the article by Ron Wilson centered on him as much as it did, so go ahead and give him a hard time.
Great publicity that may lead to a possible public TV feature.  :thumb: Don't know the size of the circulation but it is considerable.

Just pulled up my Google search and in my collection of current news stories is one from the Salina Post on our very own Dusty!   Nice human interest article.

I never meant for the article to be a bio , but the author is a really nice guy so after asking for a bit of editing I just had to accept what he wrote . It is a nice piece .

When the film crew shows up from Sunflower journeys we will get Delrod and the original Cedar Vale 6 along with the Mayor on camera

Very nicely done Dusty!  Surprised they didn't include a picture of you in your jammies cooking hushpuppies!

JJ...you need to make the trip for sure on the Centauro!  That will cause a sensation in downtown Cedar Vale for sure!  Look at the horse that man rode in on!!

Let's hope for better weather at CV than we had at Okie last year!!

Most likely, because of the time / distance...we will most likely trailer a couple of bikes, and so we can bring our camping gear!

Geeze, I can't believe the writer didn't mention the highlight of the 1st CV rally, the 2:00 AM catfight in the barn. It was a DILLY!!

We'll have to find you a turban and a scimitar fitting of the SULTAN OF CEDAR VALE!

Does this mean we will need to reserve space for all the satellite news trucks that are going to show up for this year's rally?

We will have them park at the old haunted nursing home across from the park.

A friend just sent me another Dusty feature (same story, but a different by-line):

https://www.greatbendpost.com/2019/02/17/kansas-profile-now-thats-rural-dusty-turner-moto-guzzi/

Way to spread that Guzzi-love, Mr Turner!

^^^Interesting , apparently that journalist works with Ron Wilson at K state , wonder why her byline shows up instead of Ron's ?

Still , free publicity is free publicity , right ?

Seems the original story appeared 4 days ago on the KSU website:
https://blogs.k-state.edu/kansasprofile/2019/02/

From the KSU website:
"Ron Wilson, director of the Huck Boyd National Institute for Rural Development at Kansas State University writes Kansas Profile. The weekly posts highlight individuals or companies in rural Kansas who are making a difference to their community and state."

Commendable work, and a nice article on Dusty.

Sadly Dusty, just being from the same country won't cut the mustard I feel.

Probably true Muzz , although OKC is only about 130 miles from Cedar Vale . Wonder if we can convince him that bringing a couple of Kiwis over would ease his separation anxiety

Oh man , he really is laid back , and funny . His team mates love him , even the players from other teams love the guy . He is doing ads for a bank in OKC , I can understand about every other word

Nice story! sounds like my kind of event too.

Shame I don't keep a Guzzi in Phoenix, I need to correct that bring my V7 Sport down and get myself down to Oklahoma, never been that far east so that has to be reason enough. Don't think I can swing it this year but next year has potential.

We'll be there again next year Jim . Just so you know , Cedar Vale is in Kansas , although the locals sometimes refer to the area as *almost Oklahoma*,since the border is rock throwing distance to the South

Thanks Dusty, I have never been to Kansas either (I need to get out more lots of country to see) and I think getting my V7 Sport down in the USA for a winter would be good for it, hasn't been on the road for a year.
