It’s been a long winter. The forecast for next Saturday is 16F for a high. It’s hard to do much of anything outside when that’s the highlight of the weekend.
It sucks we did this.
I know, whaa, whaaa!

28 days until spring...hang in there... :thumb:

Got about 300 miles in this weekend on Central Texas backroads. Windy and in the 50s, but I toughed it out (heated grips)

I wish I could sympathize with you, but work has sent me to Florida this winter.
Got in a little riding while here.

Looking forward to winter...........
Just saying

Wicked thundersnow yesterday afternoon, then the weather changed, and we got 70 mph whiteout. Wind like some hangry demon. House seems fine, checking on the solar panels once the sun's up.

Living in the northeast, I've grown to appreciate the change of seasons.
I wouldn't want to live where it's one season all year.
I bet you could find a wintertime interest if you tried.

I do love the change of seasons... I do wish the cold ones were shorter though!!! Up here in NY we have a solid 6 months of winter I love the warm though.. so im thinking NC is calling me!!!

DAYTONA, BABY!! Knoxville and "Gasparilla" on the way down
gonna try to visit with Guzzi Steve, too!
that's how Helen and I are coping
-
I know. It was 10 degrees this morning. We had times this winter that it was cold enough
to freeze the balls off of a bearing. One day it was 27 below zero. It is illegal for central
Illinois to get that cold.
-
oh,yeah. AND a wee bit o' whisky ;-)
-
14 degree C in Northern Germany, sunny, my V7 awaits me in the parking lot of my workplace....
And this since mid of February (with small rainy interruptions). Ok, admittedly, in the morning it is cold. But anyway.

After being totally snowed in last Thursday / Friday / Saturday, warmer weather is coming once again to Vortex-Land! :thumb:

Gaining a couple of minutes of daylight every day. Like the puppy said when he lost his tail, "won't be long now!"

I spent the first 33 years of my life living with "the change of seasons". (Northern Iowa and Nebraska). That's why I live in Central Texas. And we do have seasons here: January and summer.

60 and sunny on Saturday and Sunday this past weekend in Chattanooga. So, yea, riding and fun were had by many. Move south Chad, it's a lot easier than you think. Illinois biggest export is tax payers so join the crowd and come on down. There's plenty of room for you and jobs a plenty as well.

Ya missing Hawaii a bit there Jim?

I'm in Indiana, south of Indy. Yesterday while picking up the debris from the recent wind storm, I heard the call of the Sand Hill Cranes. Finally saw them, way up in the clear blue sky, two big Vees, heading north. They're my first indication that Spring is finally going to get here.
-
Your so right BC. The plan is to be gone next winter in the fifth wheel to either south Texas, southwest Florida, or both. Then just rent motorcycles for some riding time. 😎
-
Looking like last year when we had about a week of spring. For the Wichita, KS area March will come in with single digit low temps and highs in the 20s. Suppose to plant potatoes in two weeks, ain't going to happen as I would probably break a shovel on the frozen ground.

The temps have been mild here in South Louisiana, but the rain has kept the bikes in the shop a bunch this year. Still, I've gotten some decent rides in this winter. Everything is leafing out now, the Canada Geese are back, and the fish in the pond are getting really active. I guess spring has sprung here in Waldheim...

Don't forget all the pollen which turns any outside vehicle yellow/orange.
Spring is on the way. :thumb:

Spring peepers were out in SW Missouri last night!
-
The last of the snow...67 degrees and sunny right now on our back deck!
March 2oth this year... is the first day of SPRING!!

That’s why I snowmobile. It shortens the winter big-time!
-
There is no snow on the ground for at least a hundred miles, and even that is highly dubious. Bu it is forecast to be far below normal, aka also known as much below 30f for the next two weeks. I think I might try shaving off my pubic hair for something different to try.
-
It's forecast to be about 35 degrees and some sun today.....A perfect day to change the leaky radiator in the Yamaha 660 Rhino I did a lot of work on during single digit weather in an unheated garage..
-
Checking last night at the extended forecast, and snow storm coming sunday, and temps not expected much above freezing for at least the next 10 days... WHAAAAAAA
-
Chad, I'm thinking maybe a bikini wax might be more your style..

Weary indeed........ "DOOOOOHHHH!!!!" - - -

I hope so but they changed the month. So time will tell if it works out.
-
Down here on the backside of the planet we haven't had rain for basically a couple of months, everything is dry and fires are causing problems.
28deg C for tomorrow and hotter for the next.
-
OK - 62 degrees yesterday...so a few spring images from Vortex-Land to cheer everyone up! :thumb:
Gopher spurge blooming in the hood...Castle Rock among the clouds...mixed bulbs sprouting on our back deck!

Back in the mid-70's, I live in New Milford, Danbury, and Fairfield, CT...remember those winter scenes very well!
