If makes you feel better, at some point not to far from now you will be suffering for an abnormally long time, sweltering heat of the type that used to be quite rare. The planet is always trying to balance itself, one extreme creates another.

True that! Including storms. They seem bigger and more severe than they used to be, especially in the Summer.
Here right now, 28F, 4 mph winds, and what little snow we have is only on lawns and such. We have had enough warm ups that nothing has stuck around like it has in the past. But, it isn't over yet...

Thank you. Yes though I look forward to good riding weather, we are very fortunate to live in a very beautiful place.
The fishing is pretty amazing come late May and great paddling year round. Very peaceful :)

It started snowing around 7am.
Went to Union to get breakfast.
Here's Main Street, Union, MO - approx 8:00 AM
We picked up a couple of inches since then. The weatherman says 4 degrees for Monday morning.

We are being told to expect flirting with record lows the next couple mornings. Still have flurries in the air.
Next weekend they are saying we might be back to normal temps.

Just think of how humans are so intolerant of temps too hot or cold.

I thought that is why KS was south of NEB, S & N Dakota, they are suppose to filter this crap out before it gets to KS.

Ya... Im pretty sick of it... Ive been off 2 wheels for over 10 years and got my Guzzi in dec and have not gotten to ride it yet! Storm coming tonight... and looks like cold for at least another 10 days.. I guess if it gets it out of its system and we get to have a little dry this spring, and summer that will be good.... its been raining/snowing for about 8 months straight!
The good news is its been so long since ive been riding, that I get to go gear shopping... Just got my new helmet friday!!

Great racing without the BS. Dirt, high bank is great, but pavement is fun too.

At least the drought is over in these parts. The Walker, Carson, and Truckee River basins are all at close to 200% of average snowpack.
People who have lived here in Northern Nevada awhile think whatever climate change is happening has made it wetter. I believe we exceeded the annual average precipitation by the end of February.

I don't have data on storm size, but think about the amount of Hype that we get today about storms compared to what we used to get.
Even regular snowstorms get Names now, like hurricanes do. They invent things called "Bomb Cyclones!"; man, that sounds horrible, doesn't it? Not to mention Wolf Blood Super Moons and stuff, things that happen every year or so. Today, even a full moon is an apocalyptic event.
If a weather front is coming through, the Weather Channels hype it day and night, with tales and video of tornadoes and lightning and gales of the past. Doppler radar can point out swirling clouds that no one would ever see if it weren't for radar, but they've always happened.
It's almost impossible to find out what the real temperature is, if it's really high or low - all you get is either The Heat Index if it's hot, or the Wind Chill Factor if it's cold. All in the name of Spectacularism!
Some of the information is useful, but you can look at it and tell that much of it is just hype, designed to get you staying through the next commercial, or click on the "INSANE WEATHER - WATCH HERE!" links.
Just watch out for it!

Funny, it does seem that way but it hasn't been the case according to the records..
Tell you what, that windstorm that came before the cold front was pretty darned crazy.

Looked out the window about midnight and wanted to go out. I postponed until this morning. It's not my Guzzi but I have to do something while waiting for my V85 to come in. Soon we will be complaining it's too hot.

Stats say it's actually a pretty average winter for Kansas historically.
Two big differences: 1. We are getting older. 2. We have gotten used to the warmer than usual winters of the last five to seven years.
Still, I am getting out as often as possible to fight cabin fever.
