New Moto Guzzi Door Mats Available Now
That's a sweet looking bike !!! I also am a huge fan of cadre. I bought my Stornello in Md.and had my first service done there after hearing all the good reviews, I'm 375 miles away from them but it was worth the trip. Great bunch of guys.
A big fan here as well and what I am going to say applies to Hamlin's in CT as well . It may apply to others, but these are the 2 that I have experience with.
A big fan here as well and what I am going to say applies to Hamlin's in CT as well . It may apply to others, but these are the 2 that I have experience with.In watching Cadre since they brought MG in, I have noticed that they are "all in" with MG. What I mean to say is that many but not all of the shops that have dropped the brand are multiline dealers. I am not saying that spreading the risk is a bad business philosophy, in fact, probably a better one if you have a large space and the large expenses that go with it. But what that does is means that MG is usually an afterthought. A sales person will take a person to the MG area only if the person asks or expresses an interest, instead, they usually go to what is hot at the time. It would take real sales skill to take someone who came in on one of the big Japanese 4 or HD to move them to MG, but it is probably seldom tried. When I lived in the Wash D.C. area, there was a big HD shop that also carried BMWs, now it is a little unfair because my experience comes from the 90s when HD was white hot, but you practically had to beg to look at a Beemer and the so called sales people knew almost nothing about them except that they came from Germany. When you visit Cadre or Hamlin in CT., all the passion and excitement is centered on MG. Both of the owners are excited about the bikes as well as their staff and it really shows. Also, both of those shops have a lot of bikes. From a background in car sales, I can tell you that it generates far more excitement then when you walk in and there is one demo and one bike on the floor. With a lot of bikes, you can better imagine yourself riding one. Similar to HD, these MG dealers also sell an image. The image is that you are riding something different from all of the look alikes, also, a cool Italian vibe, a practically hand made machine, and when you ride one you find that although they look retro, they feel modern and are easy to ride. One final thing is that both of these are relatively small shops. There are huge advantages in lowered overhead costs as well as an intimate feel where you don't even have to raise your voice to ask a question because even if no one is standing there with you, someone is always close at hand. There is usually a pot of coffee and for me, it takes me back to the smaller shops that were around in the 70s and 80s before the big boys started building amusement park type dealerships. When riding long distance, I always seek out the mom and pop eatries. I feel the same about these 2 shops and others like them. For anyone thinking about taking advantage of Cadre's delivery service, I agree with the poster who said he was going to go anyway and pick up the bike, go, it will be worth the trip. There is good food close by and it will be an experience you will remember.
We got treated like we were their best customers and everything was as stated on the phone. Couldn't have been better.
Hey Kevin.....bring that one down to Bandera next winter.Tim
