Hey Nick,

Nice Convert...I had Mr. Slate out for a nice long ride last weekend too. Where in Ontario are you located? How does she handle on gravel with those tires?

Cheers

I'm in Eastern Ontario north of Kingston. She does pretty well on gravel:  https://youtu.be/U_ZK8Axc0Z8

Those are great photos of your Convert beside the lake!  Here in Creemore, the ground is covered in snow.  :embarrassed:

Looks like you've been at it on your Eldorado!!

I have to ask....Hemingway reference? or your real name?

Real name (after St. Nicholas's Church - visible through my mother's bedroom window after a trying, protracted birth).  Hemingway named his character after me

Ugghh! You are a braver man than I, Gunga Din! I would rather ride my Egli Vincent on the gravel. My Convert behaves like my Sport, light on the front wheel, wants to sledge the front under power, I dont enjoy it. The Vincent will break traction at the back while the front tracks, its great.

Big touring bars are great on graded dirt. What tires are you running?

I can back that up...these are the big bars about to cross more than a few miles on gravel two track. Jefferson Notch road is the highest public road in NH with Mt Washington Auto Road being private...whole rig works great on gravel even though I was carrying a lot of weight

Since I'm not a 'performance' rider, generally whatever's cheap. I go through a lot of tyres. These are DURO HF-318

Looks like a nice ride, Nick.  Was that last picture taken on Perth?

Well spotted Shaun.  I was just in the original one in Scotland so was making some mental comparisons.  I prefer the Ontario one - it's smaller and cleaner but less ancient.

Cheers, Nick.  I was only in Perth a few times (Ontario, that is), but always really liked the architecture and vibe.  Glad you're getting out to enjoy the countryside!
