V85TT in Morocco

I think this story deserves its own thread...



I just got this photo from a fellow Guzzi rider. I do not know the story behind it (yet) but it seems that the V85TT is used in natural terrain already. The shot was taken in Morocco.

Update - Here is the story:
The Guzzi is owned by a German with the first name Georg. He ordered the red/white version which was delivered one month later than expected.
When V85TT arrived he drove 1000 km in just one week, mounted cases and other tyres and left Germany with 3 comrades (1x KTM, 2x BMW GS) on Easter Monday heading towards South France taking the ferry to Morocco. They should be back on the 18th of May.

The messages his "Guzzi-comrade" got were positive.
The bike runs almost flawlessly so far.
A bit oil seems to come from the oilpressure sensor and the dashboard does not work sometimes.

Ouch...!
I hope that second issue is not indicative of the future batches.
I’m encouraged not to worry since I have heard horror stories of ‘07 Norge dashboards but have never had an issue with mine..

Let´s wait if get an answer to this.
These kinds of displays are also used on Aprilias so they should be well-proven.

Does it lose all power or selected functions ?

Here is the message I got.
While driving the display suddenly shuts down.
The clock resets and cruise control does not work anymore.

Switching the ignition off and on again reanimates everyting but the clock has to be set again.

no biggie
he may be trying to use cruise control on the fesh fesh (bulldust in oz). like traction control and ABS it is outside parameters. I can see computer meltdown when one wheel needs to be spinning and the other in the air
hopefully there is mode where learner aids are off for travelling far
At least dash  immobiliser and ecu are still friends , that is the worry ,not losing the clock (or any readouts)
The phone app should give all that anyway, time is definitely easy

and thanks Jan for posting, these are the stories we need, short test rides and journalist’s tosh are all well and good but the real world away from home comforts tell true story.
