Paging John in Springfield. Gonna need another Dead Head sticker!

:thumb:  Wish I could have attended, But I had the South Dakota trip then the Springfield Ill. trip, and then all the DAMN RAIN. I had some MAJOR home duties to catch up with. Did some serious weed eating yesterday.

Win some, lose some. I won a $300 helmet and got a $300 ticket coming back into Okla.  I knew I shouldn't ride on 412.

Otherwise, beautiful weekend, beautiful weather.  Most of the secondary highways were empty.  Not a car on Push Mtn or Mt Judea.  The little bike just goes around twisties like nothing I've ridden.  Great food in Low Gap and Oark.  The tex-mex not so much in Mtn View.  I did about 1200 miles over 4 days.

Saw some of the board guys as mentioned.  There was also a Griso Tenni there.

The helmet is large, I wear a medium.  I'll try it out and see if it fits or call the sponsor in Dallas and see if I can get a trade.  It's an awesome helmet that's painted liquid silver.

Where on US-412 did you get the ticket?  Was it West Siloam Springs Oklahoma?

The fork on 412 and Cherokee Turnpike (I was trying to stay on 412 and avoid the toll).   I guess the speed limit goes from 65 to 55 and I was doing 75.

I prefer to take 62 through Tahlequah, in fact that's probably the best motorcycle road in Okla.  But with the flooding and wanting get home, I took 412.  BTW, coming into Ark on 412, I took 16 at Siloam Springs to Fayetteville and picked up 74 to Jasper.  Not bad and better than 62 from Westville to Fayetteville.

Anyway, I'm really done with any turnpike or interstate in Okla.  I either get run over or get a ticket.  Not a good feeling on two wheels.

Ya gotta watch those reduced speed limit signs .

About ten years ago heading West on 412 about 10 miles East of the McDonalds I had the /5 spun up to about 90 MPH because a huge line of storms was coming from the West and the only shelter was at the McDonalds . Passed a trooper sitting on the shoulder , he pulled out so I slowed down just a little , probably still over 80 , he matched speed and followed me to the stop . We spoke briefly in the parking lot , he just grinned and said he knew that I was just attempting to beat the storm to shelter . Of course being on a very old worn out looking motorbike probably didn't hurt either

Dunno , BMW claimed 99 MPH , and it was very broken in

Seriously , my trooper buddy radar gunned me on 69 highway coming back from down by Eufaula at 92 , had met him while he was working the bridge rebuild over the lake , he followed me back to Muskogee . We didn't run that fast for very long , but a pretty steady 85 MPH . Kinda cool having a trooper , er , escort .

Yes.  AR-16 between Siloam Springs and Fayetteville is a top-notch motorcycle road.  It does suffer from increased traffic and increased speed enforcement over the past few years, like many roads in our growing metro.  Still, it's curvy and scenic, and the best way to ride between F'ville and the Oklahoma Line.

AR-74 is another premier motorcycling road.  It's disjointed getting to Jasper, but AR-23, AR-21, and AR-43 which stitch it together are really nice.  Huntsville, Kingston, Boxley Valley, Ponca, Low Gap.  All nice places to ride through.
