The Italian government is in effect subsidizing Piaggio Aerospace in order to create a more attractive company for a potential buyer. Thankfully, Guzzi owner Piaggio is said to be a separate (but related) company, theoretically unaffected by the distress of its Aerospace cousin.

The Italians have a history of making some good aircraft in the past. The economics of doing that now maybe not so much. Electric ATV for the Moon or Mars???
