ENGINE OIL PRESSURE SENSOR

Function: it indicates to the instrument panel if there is enough oil pressure (0.5 + / - 0.2 bar (7.25 + / - 2.9 PSI)) in the engine.

Operation / Operating principle: normally closed switch. With oil pressure above 0.5 + / -0.2 bar (7.25 + / - 2.9 PSI), open circuit.

Location on the vehicle: right side of the vehicle, under the oil sump

Pin-out: Voltage 5V

Thanks I looked and cannot see it. Do I have to lift the gas tank?  I am getting the flashing red triangle more and more often with the urgent service note. I'm hoping to get to the oil sending unit to check the connection.

Hi John,
Look under the bike, I believe that this is what you are looking for:  (sorry for the darkness of the image).  This pic shows the lower front frame member and (hopefully), the oil pressure sensor at the front of the oil sump - just where kballowe said it would be.

If its the oil pressure switch you should also get the oil can. If not, it may be the demand sensor (throttle position center).

I have this same issue and replaced the oil pressure sending unit and still have the "red triangle and urgent service message"

The bike goes into limp mode with the flashing red triangle.  If you cannot clear this, then you may be stuck in limp mode. 
Roll the dice.

The bike will only go to a certain speed...slow.  This allows you to get to someplace where you can address the problem without damaging the engine.

The limp mode is a PITA, however also a blessing if it saves from motor damage. Bottom line is this. If your Guzzi goes in that limp mode it’s not only for the protection of the bikes engine it’s also for your protection. With a ride by wire system the ECU tells the TPS how much fuel to throw to the engine. Pete explained it to me back when I was going through my TPS sensor issues, that were if I was waiting behind a vehicle and when the time tp continue came and I added a little throttle, the TPS keeps the ECU from opening the throttle wide open, thus killing me. Pete has a was of making thinks simple for me to understand. :) mine you this is how my  Limited knowledge  interpreted the cause and effect.
