Maryland breakfast, revised for July
« on: July 08, 2019, 08:34:07 PM »
Third Sunday.
Guzzis (and anything else you want to ride or drive).
Breakfast.

This one is going to be a bit different, we're moving to Dempsey's Grille, 116 W. Main in Middletown.  Parking lot is right around the corner on Elm Street.  They have agreed to reserve space for us, but they want to know how many people we're going to have so if you are planning to come please let me know by Wednesday, 17 July.

Date for breakfast is 21 July and time is still 9:00 AM.

Bump, anyone planning on attending please let me know.

Thanks.

Prior commitment for me as always, but just in case, might want to change the "June" word to "July" in the first post, just in case someone might say "Darn, I missed it ...."

I'll be there, on July 21st, not June.

Better late than never...

Nice ride over the mountain to Dempsey's in Middletown - I actually had to take the "long way" to keep it from being too short of a ride.  Still only 9 miles. By my count, there was eight us gathered at Dempsey's for breakfast, five Guzzis (two original Eldos, one nuovo Eldo, Le Mans 1000 (Mk. 5), V7 Stornello and my Convert) one Goldwing 1800 and three attending in "cages".

Busy place, but the wait staff keeps up well, service was excellent. My western omelette was very good, the best I've had in quite some time. Hopefully, we'll be returning for August.

By time we were ready to leave, it was getting downright hot and even more humid.

What Charlie doesn't mention is that he had to save an (ahem) unnamed member whose newly refurbished, rechromed & installed luggage rack decided to try to commit suicide on the ride to the breakfast by shedding a couple of bolts & nuts.  Luckily, & with one zip tie, it was prevented from falling off long enough for this aforesaid unnamed rider to follow Charlie to his house, where he got the necessary replacement nuts & bolts, along with a reminder that it's a good thing to check nut & bolt tightness at least occasionally & especially after something has been installed!

My ride was also pretty nice - about 50 miles each way from Gaithersburg, MD thru Adamstown, Jefferson, & up Old Middletown Rd to Middletown, including going through Burkittsville, MD (of "Blair Witch Project") notoriety, twice.  Nice fairly curvy 2-lane roads, but nothing as scenic as some of the photos Charlie has posted from rides he's done in the area.
