Tear Jerker Rally
« on: July 23, 2019, 08:16:38 AM »
Hello, all!  Ran into an interesting group of folks on a camping trip this weekend at McCormick's Creek S.P. in roughly west central Indiana.  90 degrees most of the time.  It was a stopping point for the Tear Jerkers National Tour; a club for teardrop camper enthusiasts.  I found the home built and vintage examples to be the most interesting, and their owners were happy to tell you about them.  Imagine that!  I took a few pics to share.

Impressive Hoosier homebuild (Hoosier is a person from Indiana, BTW )

Didn't see these folks

Polished Shasta

'73 Super Beetle Hoosier homebuild conversion

'67 Jeepster Commando with father and son Hoosier homebuild.  They had matching brand new Honda Super Cub 125's to buzz around the campground

Texas homebuild

Another Hoosier homebuild

Alabama homebuild made from small HF trailer and materials recovered from a church dumpster... I dig this one the most.

Those are pretty cool! :thumb:

That small one built on a HF frame makes me wonder if it could be pulled behind a motorcycle? It would no doubt kill any kind of fuel mileage though. No, I have no plans of pulling such a thing behind my bike...

Agreed...and I love looking at these vintage small travel trailers...but at the end of the day...a nice, quality tent does the job as well!

Thats really cool ,Brother Jim. I love old trailers, and the home built ones are a real treat to look at.

There is a place near me in Bisbee called the Shady Dell trailer park, that rents out vintage "theme" trailers like a Motel. They have some real cool stuff!
below is a link for you guys to check out some pics.
