*** Please....I'm beggin ya (password)***
« on: August 10, 2020, 07:13:47 PM »
Write your passwords down. I cannot reset several passwords everyday much longer with my schedule and keep people satisfied. Furthermore, I will NEVER tolerate someone thinking I owe them to drop everything I am doing to help them get back in and when I don't respond within 18 seconds, I absolutely will not tolerate being called "too lazy to care". An ounce of kindness is not too much to ask.

Luap, I'm sorry to hear that someone on this forum made that statement to you.  I've been on WG over 10 years, and value all you've done for the Guzzi community.  Don't take this individual's comment to heart.

Best wishes,

Isn't the password reset an automated system?  I have no idea what my password is (google remembers) but IF I forget it, it is NOT your problem Luap, or the Admin's, it's mine, because I am the retard.

I'd tell them to get a tissue and go pound sand.

I agree with the above philosophers.  Being thick skinned is often a good thing.

As my brother once advised me after listening to me describe a Simon Lagree type employer "Well, there's a lot of a**holes out there!  You gonna let them all get to you?"

Epiphany:  The opinions of others is A.  Our internal decision to get upset is B.  Being upset is C.  We only have control over B & C.

As I have often told my Southern associates, I'm from NY.  Back home we have a saying.  The polite Southern version is "Screw em if they can't take a joke!"

Same as you; can't keep track of passwords so I created a file with every app and password then saved it to a cheap SD card that sits unplugged until I need to update the file or look up a password. Simple, handy, and reasonably safe.

I keep all of my passwords and such in an encrypted file on my phone.

Now if I could just remember the password on that file.

I went past reasonably safe to very safe ... I keep all my passwords (175 at last count) on paper, tucked behind a wall calendar where anything except a Sherlock Holmes search wouldn't find them.

I'd like to see someone hack into THAT system .... !

Luap it's your sandbox, I think the majority appreciate being able to play in it; you shouldn't have to hear that type of noise.

It's disappointing to learn that someone can't bring simple courtesy and respect into the playground with them.

Re the passwords; a few years back, I had a few critical hardware failures at the same time that I was under a cyber attack by a determined and skilled individual.

As a result of the loss of access to certain devices and passwords, and the ripple cascading effect of access denied; for a short period of time, I was completely locked out of my whole existence. I had zero control of every major aspect of my digital life, which as we all know in this day and age is just about everything of any importance, very unsettling.

I hope that everyone is doing well, take good care of yourselves,,, and each other.

Luap, Tks for all you do and endure

Check your password manager on your device...you only have to remember one password to logon the device.  If you forget a password to a specific site, check , password manager.

All ya gotta do is institute an $2 password reset fee.

Too low.  Charge them $20 for 24 hr service aka (stoopid fee).  $10 for within a week.  $5 for whenever you fill like it.  FREE can only go so far with your time.  That should scare off some of the trolls.
