Computer help needed.
« on: October 29, 2019, 12:58:35 PM »
My camera and my Mac computer no longer want to talk to each other. Once connected the camera should automatically download the pictures. Over a period of time it has become more and more erratic requiring a number of tries to download. This week it refuses to download at all on my computer but it will on my wife's Mac. Any ideas?

I had a Canon DSLR that the USB port went south. Had to take the card out and use a card reader. Upside was the card reader was faster transfer anyway. I guess if it works on your wife's computer it's probably your computer, but card readers in my opinion are the way to go.

Works on hers, but not yours. Are you using the same cable on both PC's?

Yes.
I have another compact camera and my computer will not 100% read it's card but most of the time without a problem. If I switch cards into the compact it just says "no photos".

I had hoped it was just a cable issue.

You have another camera that still connects to your PC. The card in it reads fine most of the time. You put the other card in and it can't read the pics. Have you tried hooking up that camera with the other card to the wife's PC? I'm not an expert, but I seem to remember years ago that not all cameras supported each others card format. I could easily be wrong on this.

Just a thought and that's about all I got.

Good luck!!
