I went to Auto Zone
« on: November 11, 2019, 12:13:25 PM »
Left the house early this morning on the Cally Touring to go to Autozone to pick up three quarts of oil and a filter for a Honda project.  The store is about two miles from my house, 154 miles later I am home.  Perfect day, cool when I left this morning, the old leather jacket and sheep lined gloves felt great. Turned into a beautiful warm day and the oil, filter, and I had a damn nice ride.  Sometimes a spur of the moment jaunt turns into the best trip of all......

Occasionally I need to ride into town for something at the hardware store or parts house which are 10 miles away, seems to take the better part of 2 to 3 hours for some reason.  I feel your pain

Whenever I do that, I usually forget to get the oil & filter (or whatever the supposed reason was for the trip) and have to make a another trip...  then sometimes another....

Glad to hear you had a good ride.

Where'd you go?   South and west I suspect; I know those roads from way back.   Still some nice roads despite the massive development ....

Down Rt 3 through the back roads of the Northern Neck, up to Tappahannock, hit 360 over toward Richmond and picked old Rt. 1 back up.  Stopped at the Harley Dealership in Ashland for coffee and a look see, good coffee and not many folks looking.....Thought about Luray over the mountain, my favorite day trip, but it was a tad nippy early this morning.....

I Know what you mean Britman.

I have pleasant memories of 200 mile rides with my wife to get a cup of coffee. :coffee:  50 miles of that were on a nice twisty hill. :thumb:

Just wait for the weather.

Yesterday was 75 and perfect.  Today is 27 gale winds and spitting rain and snow.  It's coming.

Uhh, I've done that and didn't even get a T shirt. It wasn't particularly pleasant. MRI looking for prostate cancer. Fortunately, they finally found it.
