New Quota owner
« on: December 30, 2019, 03:05:42 PM »
Woohoo! I won the auction on EBay for a 2000 Quota! I am really excited to get my first Guzzi. Going to fly down and ride it back. I’m very impressed with the online Guzzi community and look forward to years of ownership.

Congratulations. That was a great deal. I think the headers and rims were likely to get cracks. Search here for what to check for and upgrade before any problems happen. If it was closer I would have bid myself. ;)

Wow - good buy! :thumb:

My Quota 1100es is my most modern bike (and about as modern as I want to go).  It's tireless, handles well, feels stable whether one or two up, and is fun to ride.

You got a killer deal.I'm glade it actually got sold, was thinking it was a shill bid when it looked like it was going to be sold for $1800. Rims should be good, someone put a 19" up front.Honestly I don't understand why the value on a Quota is what it is.They are pretty much a do it all bike.He was showing that bike off maybe a year ago and it went up for sale pretty fast.If I have to stick with mine due to resale value,I have no problem with it.Good luck and enjoy!

Thanks everyone! I’ve got my flight booked and am really more excited about this bike than the three out of four I’ve bought.

I did as much exhaustive research as I could prior to deciding on it using the interwebs and the search feature on this and other websites. I almost had a heart attack when I read about the rollerization problems, until I realized that the quota is a 2v. That sealed the deal.

That’s a nice red Quota! What tour pack is that?

And hauta, thanks. I’ll do my best to give it a good home.

Again, many thanks, Robert

Thanks very much. My Victory has saddlebags and I’ve done major tours on cruisers, but if this Quota works out like I think it’s going to be my main ride and the victory will be sunny weekend two up ride.

Congratulations on the purchase.  Same color combination as mine.  It's not great at anything, but good at everything.  Fantastic tourer.

Lots of stuff you can do to improve the stock bike.

Wishing you many happy and safe miles.

Did the same thing when I bought my Quota last year off of ebay. Flew out to New Jersey and rode it home to Indiana that day with a brief stopover in Columbus, OH. Fun adventure!

Great snag! I say..

Love the two tone. I think those were the very first quotas to be imported. The rest were red or black..

Very nice looking bike, sure sounds like a smoking bargain  :thumb:

I agree with your thinking about the older 2V bikes, should give you many years of good service.

Congrats and enjoy your new ride.
