I had my first ride of 2020 this morning, heading to work. I should have done it yesterday but the bike would not start and I had to go by car. Yesterday afternoon I found that there was no spark at the plugs. I went through every connection in the ignition circuit, found nothing but cleaned them regardless and, at the end, I had spark again. I'm grateful it was nothing serious.

Happy New Year to you all.

Taken on the appropiately named Stunt road.  It climbs to the top of the hill. You can see some of it in the background.
I don't normally stop at the Rock Store on a weekend or holiday, but thought, Well why not? There are too many bikes/cars/po leece on the road to roar around too much.

My old friend Todd Egan was there with what used to be his Jackal..

*Very* nicely done.  :thumb: 1100 sport engine in front of a carc.
Talked for quite a bit while the "rolling thunder" kept coming and coming..

Decided I'd had all that fun I could stand, and headed back to the beach.
But first:
A run down Tuna canyon, which goes from the top of the mountain down to the Pacific Coast Highway. One way.

100 "quality" miles to start the year. It was good for me.. :thumb:

I took a short ride to the Pea Ridge Military Park today when the temps got into the 50s.  It was a mite windy, but still an enjoyable start to the new year.

Temps got up to the mid 40's and the snow from last week is mostly gone today. To bad the roads are covered with gravel and salt and I have pneumonia (again). I might have attempted an early new years ride. Oh well, I will have to wait until the drugs have done their thing and the next real break in the weather comes. Winter here in Nebraska is a tricky deal. Right now in the eastern part of the state we have open roads but 100 miles west of here the roads are closed and they have 20 inches of snow on the ground. Still a long way to the new riding season.

I managed to go for a short ride on my Guzzi this afternoon. About 50 degrees at the time. A great way to start a new year and my retirement!

I can relate. I had planned on a NYD ride as well. The weather was going to be decent. Instead I went to the ER for bronchitis to stave off the eventual case of pneumonia. Oh well, there will be other days.

New Years Morning at 0700 was 20 F in southern middle Tn.   But , by 0810 it was up to 26 and climbing.   Electric gear is not so $$$ if ya shop on Ebay !  "Order 3 sizes to big (those Asian folks must be tiny)"

So I met a bunch of CMAUSA Buddies and went to "The Bridge to NO-Where"  near WoodBerry Tn. for some Bike Blessings and Good-Times .

By the middle of the day there must have been 450 bikes and 700 bikers parked on or about the bridge .    there were so many packed in and on that bridge ... I was getting "iffy" about it not supporting the load !  :embarrassed:

I was the only Guzzi there in a sea of Wings and V-twins turned the wrong way !

Here's a picture I clicked about 10:00 before it got so crowded .

Have managed to get the Norge, Griso and Scura all out for rides in the last week, not a bad way to start the New Year!

Today was another beautiful day on the Gulf coast, great riding, stop at the local country cafe at the halfway point...too much fun to stop and take pictures this time!

Ride on!

45F and sun on New Year's day? We'll take it!

Myself and the Whitakers up front there replaying last year's NYD ride through SW Ohio to Oxford for some Mexican food.

Exactly the same temps as last year, but so much better this year with the sun!

I rode a whopping 1 mile this morning on this scary little monster.

Benelli 180 Volcano. Too much power for the tiny, twitchy chassis, a bit terrifying to ride.
