LM I - 4 sale - Toronto
« on: January 28, 2020, 10:02:07 AM »
https://www.ebay.com/itm/1977-Moto-Guzzi-Le-Mans-1/143513728562?hash=item216a15b632:g:AicAAOSwru1eLhj1

Described as an all original Lemans MKI - advertised as a 1977  - build date is 76 on ID tag - engine is stamped VE *.....- has a 1976 rear fender / tail light, a repro seat, foot rests that seem to have come off a later LeMans, switch gear off a newer Guzzi, replacement shocks, black plastic alternator cover, front fender does not have brake cable guides or holes to accept guides, competition exhaust, fork damper replaced with air valve units - perhaps FAC?

Could be a good deal.

Jim, you find the nicest looking bikes :thumb:

This ones not on Kijiji, but if you or anyone else was genuinely interested I'd be very careful on this deal

Very interesting bike and when you look hard at the seller and the other items for sale, collectible Ducatis, antique cars, it could possibly be legit :undecided:

When I ripped through the seller info available, I found zero web presence.

His Ebay rating is all older buys, only one recent rating as a seller.

When I searched the seller's contact info "stronghold structures" in Toronto the bulk of the returns were for recent high level mob arrests, so it could be someone selling their toys for lawyer fees, but I'm leaning towards a scam at this point, fwiw.

Or it could be the smoking deal of a lifetime for some lucky guzzisti

Buyer due diligence on this one

I am thinking scam as well, but you never know, personally I am not interested in it, been there done that with the LMI restoration.

If someone was genuinely interested in bidding I would expect he/she would want to see the bike in person before laying down any cash.

IF its legit and IF it were to sell for $10K or less it would be a great deal.

Yup you're absolutely right.

If it's legit, could be a good find for someone interested in it.

Groove is right, that is quite the man cave.  :thumb:

For whatever reason the Lemans doesn't show up on Kijiji, but both Ducatis and the Model A's showed up on our Kijiji back in Dec, very interesting.
