Handlebar install. 02 california.

Ive downloaded the manual, and searched here, and Im finding nothing...  I see no listing for torque specs on this bike..  Also most motorcycles install the bars with the front of the split clamp tight to the base... And the rear tightened to specs..  But these were even opening, and the bike is low miles, and stock.. so might not have been apart. Anyways... to make a long story short..  whats Guzzi's procedure for attaching the bars??  And the torque specs for bars. Also for the front axle and fork pinch bolts while im at it. Im surprised how little the repair manual shows!!  Thanks for any help!

More searching and still nothing..  Im going to run with the standard torque for a 8mm bolt.. 25-30NM..  and mount them like I always have with the front tightened down flush, then tighten the back. I cant fine any info on Guzzis for the top nut on the triple tree either..  Ill just have to run with what ive done with other bikes..  The manuals for Guzzi's leave a lot to be desired

Handlebar clamps gap should be close to even, not like my HD's front wheel clamp where you tighten one end of the clamp fully and then leave a gap on the other end when tight.

Edit: How tight, tight enough the bar doesn't move. You don't need it any tighter.

You may have to look at an older manual for your bike, Guzzi is known for leaving out info that was already in a manual. Alto try Benders site for the torque spec.

Edit: If a previous manual told a mechanic how to take apart a transmission, the current manual will just tell you to take it apart. Being a trained mechanic, you should already know how to take it apart or to look at the previous manual.

I started going through them all at benders site. Looks like most manuals are built off the V7sport manual. They have a different setup, and Im slowly going through all the new ones till I find the style mine has. Thanks.
