Good tires, suspension frt. & rear, better brakes and several track days. You'll feel the changes immediately and be a better, safer rider.  R3~

Way off thread - serious drift, but I do note that AF1 is getting in Ohlins for the V7, and at a more or less reasonable price.

Pity you blokes don't have access to the Bellagio - have a mate who moved to one from a Cafe Classic, very impressed with both the handling and the power, and is now in the process of V7-izing it. I wonder if the V85 power plant would fit the V7 frame - likely have to wait for a cheap wreck to appear. Likewise for the V7 III power plant. Not the same as turning a sow's ear into a silk purse, but an interesting variation on the theme. Especially for those of us who are challenged, engineering-wise. Mechano we can do, anything more is in the realm of magic. Good luck & have fun.

I think putting in a v85 is doable in a v7. But i think it would be more expensive. I have considered a v9 engine but i haven't seen any come up.

They are all the same block, but there V85 and V9 are VERY different motors from each other in terms of tuning feel.

I much prefer one over the other and if you haven't ridden them both you might feel the same, so make sure you do before deciding to go that way.

That said probably the easiest thing to do would be to put a V7 tank on a V9.

How about replacing the throttle bodies with ones of a later model Triumph?  They're designed to look like carbs, but ain't.   :weiner:

Kiwi,

Have the English stopped using Whitworth threads, or whatever obscure system that makes the Italians look like the voice of reason (the horror)?
