*^%# Bikes!
« on: March 20, 2020, 03:43:28 AM »
Moto Guzzi Stelvio is down for a blowing the 40amp fuse's non stop after 5 minutes of riding problem; The 1971 Honda CB 750 Chopper is down for a stretched chain/chain replacement needed, and the 2013 Honda Goldwing is down for a TPMS sensor that is unfortunately on back order for a couple of months through Honda.  Guess I need another bike....like I need another hole in the head!  lol  Ride safe out there and be well!

Wait a minnit...did you say HONDA is backordered for a couple months on a part?
That only happens with Piaggio.

I was always told Honda's never break.  Well, this is disconcerting news!

2013 GW is a mainstay bike.  It seems ridiculous those parts would be backordered for months.

I think it's the same as used in the :violent1: cars and dealer needs a computer program re set it. It sticks way down into the tire and breaks easily when changing tires. Very expensive too. You might see if discount tire can replace it. Don't need it to ride.

TPMS, in my experience, are way more trouble than there worth.  That's with automobiles, fortunately none of my motorcycles are so equipped

Have you by chance looked at the auxiliary lights as a source of the fuse problem on the Stelvio, caused me fits on my 2012.

Cheers

Modern technology, ain't it great.

Sur is, NOT. My wife's car has had a tpms not talking with the dash for about a year now. The lit icon on the dash drives her nut. One dealership couldn't fix it, another said we would have to leave it for a couple of days which wouldn't work for us. The crappy dealer we first took it to has been bought out and has a better reputation. So we will try again.

Speaking of modern technology, this one threw me. I am a cheapskate, Guzzi content, just ask the kids. Anyway I always buy used laundry appliances for the Laundry Queen especially after that expensive front loader that I bought new for a lot of money was nothing but trouble. Anyway a couple of weeks ago the Queen told me about a near new washer that a friend was selling. The price was good, as in cheap, for a new technology washer that uses little water. It pushes water through the clothes instead thrashing them in a tub of water. Well I go pick it up and bring it home. Take the old one out and put the new one in. A job in itself. I get a report the next day that it doesn't work. It shuts down after starting to fill. I figure my cheapskatiness has bitten me in the butt again. So I go into the Laundry Queens woman's cave to assess the situation. First of all she washes all our laundry in cold water which makes clothes last longer and look better. For this reason I just leave the hot water valve shut off. I notice that the machine is set for normal wash. I then notice that the the dial also has a setting for cold and another for tap. So I flip it to tap and it proceeds to merrily wash the clothes in the tub. The &^$@%^&* smart butt machine knew there was no hot water coming in for normal mode and refused to go forward. It's only a washing machine for Pete's sake. Technology, ain't it great?
