Just curious, how many NYC area folks are here?
« on: April 22, 2020, 04:08:16 PM »
To me it doesn’t seem like many people here in the nyc metro area. Just curious as to who is here. For tech help, parts, rides etc...

Upper West Side checking in! I see a surprising number of Guzzis in the city actually... there's a V7 II that lives across the street from me. +1 to Harriman and Bear Mountain and Litchfield County, CT.

I'm over in the Northeast corner of NJ, minutes from the Bergen-Rockland border. I picked up a 2016 Stelvio about 2 years ago, so I'm relatively new to the MG universe.  I'm familiar with the roads mentioned and they all have their charms. However, as with all things, timing is everything and if the timing is against you, a delightful run can be dashed into a sightseer's crawl or a strafing by racer wannabes dangerously over-estimating their abilities. Though I greatly enjoy Harriman State Park and return there often (Arden Valley Road off of Tiorati Circle remains a favorite), I have found the place to be progressively less inviting or just a little too crowded over the past several years. Such may be the price of having a beautiful maintained communal area within the high population NY Metro area. Accordingly, my trips have tended to expand further westward, looping in Rt. 97 along the Delaware (skirting Port Jervis/Hawks Nest traffic as much as possible) with the NYC reservoir system in the Catskills (Pepacton is a favorite).  Safe riding.
