Flat Key Blank for '18 V7 III?

Hey all,

Does anyone know where I can obtain a flat key blank for my Milano? I know AF1 Racing sells the chunky kind; I'm looking for the skinny kind.

I don't know if they are the same any more, but for the earlier V7's the ILCO X270 TMC1 was the one - no on-board electronics & comes as a flat.

The MG Igroups site for MG 750 has a database page, that shows  ilco brand, style  X270 TMC1 as working for the older V7 bikes.  I know, because I use a copy of that flat key.  That brand is popular in the USA, so you should be able to get a copy in any hardware store.  However, I'm not sure if that will work for the newV7iii.  Do they have en electronic key?

My locksmith said the blank for my 2013 V7 Stone was the same for a Volvo car.

For the III, take the key to any key cutter, and they will tell you if it's electronic or not.

My local Ace hardware didn't have an X270 TMC1, so I ordered one on eBay. I've been told the key is not chipped/electronic... I will know for sure in a week or so...

Not the PDF copy of the owner's manual that I was given on this forum. I looked at each of the 47 instances of "key" and found nothing indicating a chipped/electronic key. Do you have a page reference?

I stand corrected.  I assumed the v7III would have essentially the same system as the v9, but that is not apparently the case.   I see nothing in the v7 manual to suggest the ignition key is anything other than a good old school key.

FWIW, I've found locksmiths to have a bigger range (& often better skills) than hardware stores, but  that may be country specific.

So do I. I know of a locksmith that would have my key duplicated in no time, but his "--19" hours are something like 9:00 to 3:00, Monday through Friday...
