H pipe

It seems like I saw a post here a long time ago about someone that made a replacement H pipe that allowed you to drain transmission without having to remove the whole exhaust system (2003 EV).  A search earlier today didn't bring up anything about it.  Anyone know where this was or if they are still available?  Thanks!

 doesn't that model year 2003 EV have the transmission drain plug on the back at the very bottom , take a check you might save yourself a lot of time .

It should have both, bottom of trans and the bottom of back cover.

When I get back out again I will check but don't remember seeing a drain at the back cover.  Thanks.

It's not easy to see if it does have one there. Just make sure your not looking at the shift adjuster nut. The one your looking for looks like a level plug on the side of the trans. It will be about center and right at the bottom of the cover.

Most aftermarket H-Pipes give you access to the primary tranny drain plug without removing anything.  It's the way to go.  Even if there is a rear drain plug it's difficult to get to.

My 02 stone has the two drain plugs. One in the back edge, the other under the case. I do have a aftermarket H pipe, and I use the bottom plug.. seems to me its the best place to drain, but if I couldnt get it without removing stuff, I would use the back. I think the main reason people get the H pipes is for noise, and performance. If your happy with the sound/power of your bike, just use the rear plug.

1-1/2" sanitary stainless steel tubing works a treat. Two (2) tees an couple small pieces of tubing and then to the muffler shop for them to expand the outlet side. 


Just make sure you offset the inlets by something like 3/4" to accommodate for one cylinder being ahead of the other. I forget the actual measurement its been a while since I made one.

Not sure it is worth making this change, I had one on a '10 CalVin, bike ran poorly, it needed to be remapped, I changed back to the stock crossover muffler and drained the tranny oil from the rear drain plug (not the bottom of the tranny plug) - easy to do this way.  Like others have noted...

Regarding of drain plugs the H pipe enhances the sound and tone of these motors that makes the minor cost well worth it, not to mention the improved Preformance.

Did you have stock mufflers on it? Im just wondering becouse Im thinking of making some changes to mine that has a H pipe, and aftermarket mufflers.

Yes, mufflers were stock.
