Thanks, Cam. Looks like Harpers' may be the most cost effective option after all unless I dust off my Dad's old upholstery machine.

So here is what I have gathered from the internet and here for options for a solo seat.  Please contradict me if I am wrong.

The only alternative to a solo seat on a Tonti is buy a new seat from Harpers for or rebuild existing seat. (since chopper solo seats are not an option)
The seat covers for 850 solo seat on ebay are smaller than the Guzzi Convert/G5 police seat? not sure, but it looks like it.
For a Police solo, there are no ready made seat covers available from anywhere and the only option is either an upholstery shop or a repurposed KZ1000 seat or other with modified brackets...Time to bite the bullet.
I was hoping a $70 KZ1000 seat cover would fit the Convert Police Solo seat pan with custom carved foam, but apparently not close enough.

John,
If you're looking for upholstery for an original Guzzi Tonti-frame solo seat, I'd suggest an inquiry to Harper's. In addition to making their own solo seat, they reupholster (or at least they have in the past) the original solo seats. I had this done on the seat for my G5. I sent them the pan, foam and tatty original cover. They sent back a beautifully upholstered seat. See below. The key difference between this and the original upholstery is that the new cover has a stitched pattern on top instead of being embossed as on the original. On the seventh post in this thread (from January 19, 2018) you can see some additional images of the seat and the installation on my G5.
If you have an original pan and decent foam, I'd suggest a call to Curtis. He was very helpful in getting my seat in tiptop shape.
