Hydro Tool
« on: June 02, 2020, 01:28:30 PM »
Unable to find w/o buying a $500 kit , I made my own. Hydro lifter turned slug at 32mm length, 1'- 3/8" alu tubing drilled & sanded for perfect fit.

It's what is needed to set valves after fixing oil leak in top end, mine's like factory.

Nice to be able to make your own tools.  I bet you can find something else you'd rather spend that 500 dollars on.

No tool needed.  Turn screw in until contact with rocker arm.  Then 1-1/2 more turns to preload 1.5 mm.

What did the rocker arms look like where they make contact with valve stem?

Two engines it rebuilt had worn rocker arm pads.  I attribute this wear to low oil pressure and flow to top end.  The loss off pressure comes from leaking around the hydro lifters.
