Left Over V7's
« on: July 15, 2020, 12:27:03 PM »
I was in this shop last week https://charlestontriumph.com/ & they had a couple leftover 2018's V7's, a Rough & a Shine. They're asking $8000.00. I don't know if that's a deal or not but they were really friendly, seemedc like good guys. They hooked me up. If you're looking this might be an option. I'm not affiliated in any way, I just saw them & thought I would pass the information along. The bikes are new, they were Guzzi dealers...

They’re giving $1500 rebates on 2019 and older, so $7500 - $8000 is about right depending on model.

Every dealer plays the game differently.  I always ask how much do I need to bring to ride the bike home.  That is where I start my negotiation from.

Example:  Dealer in one state has $9200 msrp bike on sale for $6999.  Pay your tax in your own state.  Another dealer has the same model bike on sale for $6999 plus freight, setup, and doc fees tacking on another $1500.  A third dealer has the same model bike advertised for $5799 plus fees making it $7200.  The first two look even, and the third looks like the best deal until you ask them how much do I need to bring to take it home.

The above example are real numbers I experienced when trying to buy a W800.

Those are good prices as long as there are no other fees.

XPS in Accident MD is offering that with only a $100 doc fee.

That would only be DOC fee in their state, though.  No way to dodge it in NY.

Late to the party here, but I paid considerably less for a new 2018 Milano holdover...
Make a ridiculous offer, you may be surprised. I did, because I knew I wasn't really in a position to buy. 'Lo and behold deal got done, and here I am!

Its all mental masturbation with numbers. The only number that really matters is the price OTD. Rebates, trade values discounts, fee' can all be manipulated to make it look however you want.  Want a $1,000 more for your trade no problem. Just don't discount the bikes MSRP as much. Don't want to pay Doc/Freight fee's no problem. Trade value went down $900. If you taking a loan out even better now they can screw with interest rates.

I've never had a bad experience buying a motorcycle.  Must be fortunate.

Neither have I. I go in knowing my budget and exactly what I want. Just like car shopping make it very easy. Give me the best price OTD and I'll ether buy it or won't. No need for haggling or for it to be adversarial or wasting one another's time.

I've never had a bad experience buying anything.

But, there are many purchases that weren't made also.

I would sometimes ask a salesman, "Do people really fall for that?".  And they either look at me, or answer yes.  That is why I don't always buy what I want because there are too many gullible people out there especially when something is consider popular or a "status symbol".  LOL!

I bought my Breva from them, like you said 100 doc fee.  Great to deal with,  Larry
