Nice little bike.   The 160 engines have a magneto, so much better suited to occasional use than many others.

Hard to imagine what they sell for now.

I rebuilt one of those a few years back, thining I'd do a moto giro on it but never did. I took it to the Barber Vintage Festivel or whatveer it's called right after I finihsed it and it was fun riding back and forth from the hotel to the track, but once I got it back home I found it wasn't very useful in the real world. I ended up selling it to a guy who keeps it on display at his shop - they work on vintage stuff and it keeps the old Porsches company as they await parts.

The funny thing was, I didn't really intend on buying a 160 that day, I got it in a package deal with the 250 that I really wanted. But then the 160 became the main project - in fact I still haven't finished the 250 over ten yers later!

And the seller is an honest to goodness small displacement enthusiast.  He races a 50cc at Loudon too...

Great fellow.

Best,
Rob

I feel that the often overlooked Sears / Gilera 106cc Super Sport can be had for half the price, because it doesn't have the "Ducati" name.

You see, no remembers what a great marque Gilera used to be.
