1000S Staintune Surprise!
« on: August 03, 2020, 07:42:28 PM »
My 1000S came with a glorious sounding Staintune exhaust system.  The prior owner had went down and scraped up the left side of the 'tunes, and I added a blemish to the left when I took a slow speed tumble in fresh pea gravel last year.   The bike looks wonderful after my "rejuvination" but my eye was always drawn to the exhaust blemishes.

A couple of months ago on a lark, I sent an email to Staintune in Australia asking if they could produce an exhaust system for a 1993 !000S.  I fully expected to be laughed out of town, but instead they said "we can do that!"

Not wanting to be the type of guy that just pulls people's chains, I swallowed hard and asked for the price.  It was expensive, but not astronomical.  Beside the 1000S deserves it!!   :cheesy:

The transport from Australia was very efficient.  I received. them in a week!

They are beautiful!!

After hearing Staintune was shutting down just like 2 months ago, I got a quick response on a parts request from them last week... and then i see this, great to hear!

I had heard the same thing somewhere, therefore was doubly pleasantly surprised that they were more than happy to make my system.   I know that while mine was being constructed they were working on 2 Guzzi Daytona systems.

I know Sandy who owns Staintune and he's still making exhausts on request as far as I know.

I would assume so because I bought the complete system including the head pipes.

Ok, Dave - how much does a complete system cost?

I'm really happy they're still making exhaust systems. They're works of art!

Dave, looks great!  Actually looks very similar to the stock pipes and the Lafranconi Whizzer's.  Wonder how the sound will compare?
