Earth Quake in NC
« on: August 09, 2020, 09:52:38 AM »
We had a 5.0 quake in NC this morning around 8:30-9:00am. Lying in bed and it felt like a large dump truck coming down my driveway. I went to the basement to check and be sure it didn’t shake the Stone off the side stand, wasn’t to worried about the CB1000:), and got another cup of coffee. 👍

We felt it here in Spartanburg just before 8:30am.   Not much, but enough to make my hanging pots keep clanking back and forth long enough for me to say "I think we just had an earthquake."  Wife, daughter and cats noticed it too.  Our daughter looked it up on the web and confirmed it.  This was supposedly an aftershock & larger than the original 2.6(?) quake.

Today is her 17th birthday.  so I told her I ordered it special for her. She wasn't buying it, but it should make this birthday even more unique. .

Hi Dan,                                                                                                                             8-9-20

Glad it was nothing more than a nuisance.

Be well, stay well,

My place on the river is very near the epicenter. A buddy and his girlfriend friend were there when it occurred as my wife and I had just got home. Buddy said it shook pretty forcefully fir about 5 seconds. My superior basement walls Suffered no damage and I haven’t heard of any of my neighbors having and damage. It won’t the big one thank Goodness.

I just watched a movie where a coastal earthquake brought sharks who started eating people.
Sugest you checkout the water when you go to the beach.

If the movie was set in Sparta where this earthquake was, it would involve bears invading the town and attacking everyone ...

Me too.   I fancy "Anything Goes" and "I've Got You Under My Skin" on the portable ...
