Cold start lever fouling
« on: August 27, 2020, 12:12:50 PM »
Hi everyone. Just been tinkering with a bit of throttle body and tps set up and noticed that with the connecting rod removed the rh throttle doesn't shut fully because it fouls on the heel of the cold start choke. The cable has been removed and it there is no adjustment for the heel. It looks like its probably 1-1.5mm too big. Is this normal or should I get the file out ?

Just to get my bearings.
You are talking about the cam, under the right hand throttle body, with the TPS on top of the TB?
There should be a set screw that you loosen and you can move the cam a bit, if I recall.

Hi Wayne,  yup you've got your bearings right there.  I've just got under there with a head torch and my reading glasses and I cant see anything that would allow adjustment,  the whole choke mechanism just seems to be bolted straight into that chunky bar that joins the two throttle bodies. Theres not the easiest access so it's possible I'm not seeing something subtle but I'm fairly sure.

My Centauro, which I thought would be the same, had a screw in a slot. Loosens the screw and the cam can be moved.

That is it. The screw pointed to here has a slot under it.

Thanks very much , I see it now it has been pointed out to me. I was just looking at the cold lever itself and not the stop.
