Rossi tests - positive
« on: October 16, 2020, 12:30:28 PM »
Thurs. Rossi tested positive for the --19 virus . Oh , Valentino not Steve . So he’s not participating in the Aragon GP round this weekend. Another blow to an already lackluster season . Hoping for a brighter 2021 on many levels !

I couldn't resist the joke but I hope that Rossi will make a full recovery.  Sabin too, although I'm more a Rossi fan.

The Moto GP season has been fantastic, Rossi hasn't had a good racing season for a number of years now.

Rossi should have retired a couple of years ago. As soon as he lost his factory Yamaha ride, that should have told him it was time to hang up his leathers.  I hate watching great riders fade back in the pack.  They are just like boxers that stay in the ring too long.

I disagree, do you feel that way about Satchel Paige, Babe Ruth or Hank Aaron? What about Tom Brady? Goodie Howe?

His goal is 200 podiums.  He's still competitive, he enjoys the sport, he's the first to admit that he likely won't contend for  title but perhaps another win.  He's never been quite as good since he broke is ankle.

And what about everyone else in the field that are slower and have never won?  Should they leave too?

Testing positive is one thing. But is he actually sick or just needing to isolate? But having to sit out and missing races whether due to a positive test or an illness has a similar result.

There were 6 members on his team that caught it from one asymptomatic member.  A few days after race weekend, he felt sick and got tested and was positive.  I've heard nothing more regarding his condition.
