This is a favorite one of mine, although not a glamour shot like some.
One of my last special bikes sold to support my studio was my 1970 Ducati 450 Mark 3D Desmo. It was very special to me because 1. it was a well-known local unicorn that no one could buy for many years, 2. it was free (traded a free BMW R27 & $200 for it and a nice but engineless 450 Jupiter that promptly sold for $400) and best of all 3. after acquisition I eventually learned was special ordered & bought new by a man named Arthur C Boughton Jr (originally spelled Buton by his French grandfather) and my name is Arthur C Button II. Always felt like owning that bike was meant to be. It sold last in Sept 07, went to CA and subsequently participated in the Moto Giro where it was ridden and handled by the who's who of the vintage Ducati world. Until this near fatal mishap happened on Day 3 iirc during the event-

Both rider and bike ultimately survived to ride another day. It was a bummer to sell it but nice to know it wasn't sold into static display.
