I just recieved an email confirming my reservation at the Talimena State Park beginning Thursday Oct 8th. Apparently the park is open. I'm trailering in the Bush Pig.  Anyone else going?

I may join you for this one.  Is this the right site for reservations?

  Cool

Yes, but I would call down there before trusting the online site. When I made my reservation, (before the virus mess) Mary (camp attendant) had to transfer me to another site to get the reservation. Something about a snafu in the system. Let us know how it turns out for you!

This is one of my favorite rallies.   If people are going, I’ll probably join in.

Have fun boys.  I've been on a steady bourbon regimen throughout this whole pandemic.  Healthy as a horse!

My route coming home last year makes me want to go back! Went east of Poteau, Ok to Arkansas 23 north. It would be worth going just to ride down and back. Twisties all the way to Harrison. EPIC!

Russ (former MGNOC rep) was camping there a few weeks ago.  So far as I know the place is open.

Last year - it rained that Friday up until noon-ish - running nearly all the way west in Missouri, and then it just stopped.
The sun Came out when I hit the Oklahoma border, a mere 251 miles later.

Great weekend and most excellent weather.

If this camp out is still a go, I'm gonna have to ride over Friday, ride home Sunday.

Work shut me down from the Springfield mile, and well, it just sucked to miss it. Don't want to miss the mental health benefits of this camp out even if we have to space out around the camp fires (interpret as you desire).

I am planning to be there. Looks like a small crowd this year. I have reservations for the pavilion but unless feedback from the folks following this thread convince me different I am going to cancel them. I don't think we'll have the crowd big enough to need it. I'm not going to be bringing cooking gear and will be on the bike
I'll try to figure out how to get a big coffee pot there and we can power it from one of the campsite hookups. I'm just not comfortable cooking for the group in the current situation

I am glad to hear you will be there. No worries on you not cooking for us. Although your meals were always really good, we can get food to survive on OK.  The coffee, that's another story. Mornings don't start without hot coffee!!!!

We'll have to figure something out.

I'll be there starting Thursday (Oct 8th) afternoon. I'm trailering, so I'm bringing a 2 "burner" electric hotplate, a cooler,  a small 8 or 10 cup percolater (cowboy style) coffee pot (it has to go on the hotplate or a fire, not self heating,) but I only have enough of a mess kit for myself. I have RV spot #8 again, so I will have electricity and running water. The electric is sharable all day, but I need it at night for my CPAP and other stuff. My Frontier will be available for food or other types of runs into town. I will not let a little rain discourage me, but if we get another tropical storm, I'm wimping out.

I may be able to make it on Friday evening or Saturday morning, and then leave out on Sunday morning. I'll let everyone know for sure, within the week.
