Astralite Wheels

What can you guys tell me about these Astralite wheels for Tonti? When and where were they available, and what are the chances of finding a set these days. Looks to me they had to space out the wheel a little to the left to fit a wider tire on the LM3, but shouldn't be an issue for the LM4 or 5.

I think they look pretty cool, just wondering about them now.

I may have spoke in error about the damaged wheel on my friends Ducati F1B on a recent thread.  After looking at the pics in ad I believe they are Astralites like these, not Marvics as I posted.  If so, it has proven impossible for him to find a replacement for the front wheel that was damaged well over a decade ago.  Not just cost prohibitive, but unobtainium.  have not found a single front replacement or a pair.  I'm sure they're out there but so far, they still are....

I always like the impossible things to find. It's sort of a natural talent I have

     I see a few of the vintage race bikes from the '70's-'80's running Astralites in the VRRA, they are very highly thought of and sought after; every now and then a set comes up for sale, they always sell quickly and never cheaply (iirc 1500-2000? Canadian funds) fwiw.

     I think over the years, because racers are willing to pay the money for lighter wheels, most of them have ended up on race bikes or in that group of owners; if you really wanted a set, sales groups dedicated to the race crowd would be a good spot to start.

British racing wheels originally made for racers. they have been out of production since the early 90's. A company called Rennstar was re-producing them for a while, but they have gone away.

I've done stuff like that in the past, and I always end up keeping everything... which is why I can't do that now in this case
