Used to do that years ago; first on an old XL-125, then on an older XS-650.
What a hoot! So much fun, and you don't need to go fast to feel like a Real Dirt Hero, kicking the back end out, getting all crossed up!

What could  be more fun than kicking  over a 500 single on a frosty morning? But it is interesting..Be prepared for the possibility of magneto rebuild so it will start on frosty mornings.

That would sound lovely on a clear frosty day. There used to be a video on you tube called V-Max on ice, check it out.  DonG

Only one thing more fun than piloting a sidecar and that's piloting a sidecar in the snow and ice!

I would put that back on the road, too nice to hide away for most of the year.

Me too.  Having a big single BSA would make me very happy.  That's as close to a Gold Star as I would ever afford.  If it was local, I would have to at go see it.

But then I would HAVE to have the big Norton single I've always wanted to go with it...  and maybe a Matchless....

I had some really good time on lake Geneva, Horn Lake’s and many more in Ws. & Il. Triumph BSA, Rickmen & others.  Back 60’s studds on tires weren’t legel to used with AMA.  So to get AMA race point we raced with sidecars for yearly points.  Some days 15 mph top speed and others days with slush on the ice 60 mph +.  They were hard to turn on ice (slick) look for rough spots, and gas.
