Just posted on the Moto Guzzi Proud Owners site is an article/interview called The Eagle Races Uphill with GC Corse and Stephano Manici. Manici was riding a Triumph triple in paved uphill races in Italy and was a multiple champion. GC Corse offered him a ride on a Guzzi they intended to build and he accepted, knowing he'd have to race against 1000cc fours. The story is well worth reading, I'd say.
