New Moto Guzzi Door Mats Available Now
I lusted after one of these. So I worked my ass on the paper route until I got one. Still have it too😀
My first real bike was a 305 Superhawk...69. What a trust steed. In February of '70 I got a weekend pass from Ft Holabird in Baltimore, flew to Boston, visited mom and the dragged the CB -77 out of the basement. Put "fresh" gas in it and rode it from Boston to Baltimore. It never skipped a beat in the 10 hour ride (not allowed on the NJ Turnpike etc kind of issues)> Sold it to my class leader for a $1 when I left Holabird for Nam.
Don't blame you JJ.
At the end of the day, would it be FUN to have a restored CB160 like this to putt around the hood.... and show up occasionally at your local Bike Night, etc. The answer is "YES"...but would it be practical? "NO" unless you had extra money / garage space...So many cool vintage bikes...so little time / money / garage space!
Hell yes, I lusted after the CB160. I was 13 in '67, and was riding a trail 90. Something like a Bonneville was outside of my ability to imagine, but that CB160....
The list goes on...I had a Yamaha ad, from Cycle or Cycle Guide on my bedroom wall for years lusting after this two-stroke "Street Scrambler" - - - 1969 Yamaha DS6-C!! A green one, just like this (*SIGH*)It never came to pass, and at age 17, I bought a brand new 1971 Yamaha RT-1B 360 Enduro, so I was happy.
Good taste!Here's a big brother survivorhttps://sfbay.craigslist.org/pen/mcy/d/san-carlos-1969-honda-cb77-superhawk/7220555791.html
QUOTE: I lusted after a 1960's Triumph 650 twin . The Yamaha XS650 was Yamaha's answer to the Triumph but the bore/stroke was way different. The Kawasaki W-650 twin I have now is more like the Triumph I wanted back then, but more smooth.
