NGC Benelli 250 four
« on: December 16, 2020, 09:24:54 PM »
These little Benelli 250 fours have a jewel like engine and some very quirky body work the gauges are in the top of the gas tank shell, completely useless!
$5900 is a lot of money but I think one sold at Mecum Las Vegas a couple years ago for much more. They are tiny motorcycles but can you imagine being sixteen and pulling up to school on this revving the crap out of it! I believe there was similar Guzzi branded model as well.

So much diversity in the 250 street bike world.
Imagine a review of this, the Morinis (twin and single), Motobis, and the world of 2 strokes.

Back in the day, I'm sure that we, the potential buyers, considered that bike so ugly that no one would be seen on it.

Now, it's so ... retro .... that it would be cool to be riding it around.   I'll bet it has to scream to go anywhere, though.

I think its still ugly today! but that's part of the charm I suppose, 80's sharp edge style.

90 m/h @ 10,500 r/m. iirc 11k redline. I think shoe brakes 'til the 80's. Less than 3oo#. Add 3 - 4 teeth to the rear sprocket and you might make fools out of big bikes trying to catch you on tight country roads. IOW: If you get a huge grin changing gears - go for it. Cheap fun. Hard to hurt yourself. Do not forget your ear plugs!   R3~

I don't know, these little multis seem to suffer from internal friction and make less power than one would expect.

I'd love to try it out though.

they were slow , even in the day, when 250 2 strokes were still abundant. .
on the other hand , they are easy to tune ,
I saw a german with cafe racer 254, fitted with 4 carbs with open bellmouth  and 4 megaphone exhausts,
the sound at 12.000 rpm was amazing.
who bothers if it is slow , as long as  it makes the right noises.

There was a highly modified one racing at Vintage M/C Days @ Mid-Ohio back in '03. Made to look like a '60s Benelli GP racer. Sounded amazing. Was running mid pack even though you could tell the rider wasn't pushing it.

You just described my Milano with the Mistral slip-ons! Exactly why the new "improved" V7's don't tempt me in the slightest.

Thank you for those pictures, Charlie. Very nice motor bike.
I'm wondering if that's a Gus Kuhn fairing, from Air Tech. Looks like mine - on an RD 400. I had to cut the windscreen back ~3". The fuel tank looks like mine, as well.  Good fortune,  R3~

That's what I planned to do with my 500 Quattro.  It was the primary reason I wanted it..  But I bet I'll be a lot happier with my V700 cafe instead.
