V7III exhaust
« on: January 22, 2021, 10:40:09 AM »
Hey Y'all,
I'm enjoying my '17 V7III Special. It has the small Givi bags mounted. I have a pair of the larger Givi bags & they will pop right into the mounting brackets....except for the upswept mufflers. Anybody know of an alternative exhaust set up for the bike that mounts the mufflers lower?

Shorty Mistral/Agostini?  Mivv makes a can that is pretty short too I believe.
If you can beat them, arrange to have them beaten.

I haven't.  I went with the Mistral short.  The might clear, but also might put hot exhaust on your luggage.

A few months back I related how my V7iii caught fire because the insulation around the catalytic converter is quite combustable.
Luckily a Woman in a passing car handed me a bottle of water otherwise I might have lost the bike.

The cause was a rich mixture as the result of backfire blowing the throttle body apart the cat got super hot and ignited the insulation.

I have the Givi racks. I think the mfg said they were only for use with Givi E22s (or the older E21s) or the Dolomiti 30s. I used both with the stock exhaust, no problems. With the Mistral shorties, you might be able to use other bags in the Givi line.

I have the mistral shorties and Givi bags.

If you'd like some measurements, happy to oblige. This should give some idea of clearance.
