2021 MotoGP TV ???
« on: January 23, 2021, 10:23:21 AM »
I wonder if anyone has info regarding MotoGP television in the US for the upcoming season?  I was disappointed with NBC for scant coverage.  Now I see the NBC Sports Network was folding up this year with some of the NASCAR transitioning to USA Network and who knows what happens in '22.

Besides MotoGP, NBC broadcasted sporadic WSBK, AFT and Supercross.  (It would be great if BEiN would take back MotoGP & WSBK.  Their coverage was great, provided folks could get the feed.)

Checking the upcoming season, I don't see anyone broadcasting MotoGP or WSBK on American television.

If anyone has an update, I'd like to know.

NBC has a multi-year deal with Moto GP so I would imagine that NBCSN will carry again for 2021. After that, who knows. Yes, Bein did have great coverage but even Comcast / Xfinity doesn't carry the network. Guess we'll have to wait and see.

I tired of the spotty coverage and time delays with the race broadcasts many years ago. For the last half dozen years have bought the MotoGP Video Pass. Can watch all sessions and races live or replay at my leisure. Lot of other content included, even old historical races.

Life is too short and time is too valuable to put up with network schedules.

Likewise, I bit the bullet and went wise a Video Pass directly from Moto GP. The good news is that you can watch whenever it fits your schedule, as much as you want. Plus it comes with Moto 3, which is incredible racing. No more hit or miss via Direct TV, in my case...

BEiN was superb, all the classes, all the quals and all the races, live.   NBC, not so much.  Anyway, I hope we get to see it.  They did run the GP race, usually tape delay.  Maybe one out of 5 WSBK race and none of the underclasses.

Moto America was on Fox, it was OK but sometimes spotty.

We'll just have to see what NBC does.  Thanks for the info on that, I hadn't seen anything.

Steven, great point about watching Moto3 and Moto2. The lower classes have some real exciting racing. When you watch the kids come up through 3 and 2, it creates a bond that makes following them so much more enjoyable.

That's why BEiN was so good.  They also ran the World Supersport and EV class.  More races than I had time to watch

My Smart Phone News Feed told me that NBC would broadcast MotoGP and WSBK.   No details.

Also learned about COTA postponed indefinitely.

Dropped the Dish package after BEiN lost the contract. Bought the Video Pass
It's one of my simple pleasures.
Watched the last Moto3 race last night for the first time.
Great race for second and the Moto3 Championship.

They are closing down NBCSN (Sports Network) and moving content over to their streaming service, Peacock.  I follow cycling as well as MotoGP, this could be good news. More likely to get more coverage GP2, GP3, and on-demand replay.  If you are a Concast cable hostage, you get Peacock AFAIK for no upcharge.  Try to stay tuned, channels will change your milage will vary.
