I've always been surprised how Guzzi got away with the tank cut out design on the 1400's. It's such an abomination style wise. I mean it looks like the engine guy designed the engine while the cycle design guy was on annual leave. When he got back from holidays the design guy couldn't come up with any way to create a beautiful tank and just went "f*** it"  "I'm a just hacking some cut outs here" and "thats a gunna have to do Luigi"

Ciao

Kinda like my bikes, however always had a fascination for a Magni Australia, or ideally a Sifida 4v because an Australia is no obscure enough, think Oldjock has an Australia. Racing Dayton No1 was on this board once upon a time but its changed hands since. Id like a civil Falcone 500 one day but thats not a sell everything and move heavan and earth to obtain one.

Yeah that’s a fair take on it and probably accurate. But I think from a design point of view, it looks like the cylinders are “bursting out” from underneath.
But still not on my short list.

Disagree - I think some of the 1400's are fine designwise, once one is interested in a big cruiser.

I agree. Sometimes things seem after the fact. I remember a late 90s maybe 2000 firebird with a big transmission hump or exhaust hump that extended into the passenger floor board space.  And the no spare tire in the newer Camaros   I’m sure there are a lot more examples

One of the things that can be done with motorcycles in general....don't like, modify it.  How much time & money do you want throw at it becomes the ????.  Has to be someone out there in Guzzi land that's making their interpretation of a Le Mans 1400. 😳

Good point.
I have spent over $10,000 on my V 85 since I bought it and don’t regret it one bit.

I think we might be able to put a sizable dent in Dave Swanson's stable if we tried. I'll start with the lovely V7

Hello Mayor of BBQ ,

I did convert my 2004 V11 Coppa Italia, with a Lemans faring (faring off a 2002 Lemans, same color Red)
... and would like to match up the Silver and Green , need to find the right - Paint / Shop

This is the only one that I rate as a contender against Dave’s V11 Sport.

It was built well before the MGS and has an entire website http://www.fastguzzi.nl/.

It is not to everyone's taste, but this design is different and is what helps to make this bike stand out from the rest of the pack. With the red engine cover, the red, white with black trim makes for a nice colour combination.

With my bike, I do not like the leather trim fitted to the panniers, an after market modification by a previous owner.
